I didn't read the whole thing, but it is kinda interesting. Here we get into the area of cryptozoology. Many people balk at the idea of various legendary monsters, but it's true that many of these monsters have in fact been discovered - not so much as monsters, but since undiscovered species of animal often hidden away in remote areas. And the enormous quantitiy of water on our planet, in oceans, seas, and lakes, coupled with the difficulties associated with traveling within them, leaves them vastly unexplored. So it's hardly unlikely that we haven't seen all the creatures that call them home. I think it's important to remember that legends are often based on a grain of truth, so we should not be so quick to dismiss them entirely.

Nonetheless, it's probably safe to dismiss the Loch Ness 'monster', chupacabra, and the sasquatch.

Yes, and the arguments in favor of their existence are almost always negatives, in other words, they can't be totally and utterly disproven. Thus, such people, and those who wish to believe in them will often take on the mentality that because they haven't been disproven to exist, they exist.
