BF 1942 Problems

Okay, so i installed bf1942 and everything went okay until my game kept freezing at start-up, but i changed my video driver and then everything worked okay again except for now i've got an even bigger problem.... everytime i start up a game my mouse locks-up and i cannot move my keyboard (When i reach the battlefield menus) this has prevented me from playing the game and it's pissing me off, anyone know what could be the problem/solution to this?
PS: My system meets all the minimum requirements for bf1942.

Nobody even have the slightest clue of what could be wrong? I've searched on all kinds of websites and they've just told me to update my mouse drivers and i've already done that....any suggestions at all would be very helpful.

Seems like alot of people have my same problem, the main answer im getting is buy a new mouse.
