Is it just me, or does it annoy anyone else when people make blatant spelling errors on forums? (and yes, I know the title's spelled wrong, look up IRONY
) I don't mean little accidental things every now and then, I'm talking about when people write sentences like, "Did any1 c the movi about the tren yestrday?" or make huge, blatant grammatical errors like using double negatives. Does anoyone else find this irritating, or am I just a snotty bitch?

Seriously, I don't get mad persay, but I do notice when people make spelling mistakes. I only get mad and think less of them if they do it consistently

It bothers me more when it's not on purpose.
When people type, "would of," instead of, "would have," I die a little inside. That one irks me the most.
I think that it can be cute when people do it on purpose. Ackshirley, celebraysheeone. Stuff like that is great, even if I don't get it first and have to read it aloud, (and sometimes imagine that person's accent,) before I grok.

The author of the first one is considerately reader-friendly, whereas the author of the second one doesn't know the difference between letters and numbers, and likely failed a kindergarten level spelling test five years past the appropriate age of administration.
We will start deleting posts like this.

admittedly I'm not the best speller in the world .. or rather no tthe best typist .. all this despite me having a nifty spellchecker extension installed, so I shouldn't complain, but yeah it does bother me. particularly that idiotic IMSMS speak which erolyn mentioned. Mind you I never was a big fan of english class, but wtf? hating writing papers about books you could care less about is one thing, having a complete disregard for the english language is another. And having to take a few seconds to flicking translate - flicking translate the diddling english language back into flicking english - is just bloody insane.
*cough* pardon my french

I have a book about how the English language has changed over the past 1000 years, with different words being addad or becoming obsolete, and different spelling patterns being established. Perhaps this disregard for spelling is just the next stage in the development of our language. (or would that be disintegration of the language?) (LOL, I actually had to look up disintegration in the dictionary. I had spelled it disinigration and it didn't look right.)

Terrible "speeling" is terribly annoying when it get's to the point that you can't even understand what the person is getting at.

I've personally always thought it would be cool if everyone still talked the way they did back in like, the 17/1800's. All proper and whatnot...I think it'd be fun.
