ok here is the deal my computer is really bad and i need help with it, ok i go to some sites and if theres a link and brings me to a different page then the page wont show up. also some sites wont show up at all and i am sure we have a virus and spyware or adware(it was all put on by my dad) please help me

Get these programs:
Spybot- Search and Destroy
http://security.kolla.de/

Adaware SE
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/

Spyware Blaster
http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html

Run the first two first, then run spyware blaster and immunize your computer with it.

Try doing this and restarting your computer.
If you still have problems, use this online virus scanner to look for viruses:
http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

Or maybe your dad installed a computer filter that refuses to let you look at certain sites. Just a thought.

Could be it too, though these filters generally announce their presense fairly well when you go to a blocked page.

If I'm understanding this right then the exact thing happend to me and Adaware and spybot put a stop to it.

ok i tried to tell my dad that we probably have spyware and adware but my dad wont let me get any of the antispyware/adware stuff because he thinks it hase it to but he is stupid and thinkes he knowes everything about a computer to know and i forget wut a browser is is the provider like aol and stuff, sry school has gone to my head and i have aol for the record

Why don’t you give your father articles from respected technology advisors such as PC World? They publish a magazine your father may be familiar with. After a quick Google search, I found “PCWorld.com - Home Office: Spyware Wrap-Up”, which mentions Ad-Aware and Spybot S&D. If you can think of any other respected publications, I’m sure they mention these programs somewhere.

honestly even if we fix the computer he'll screw it up agian and we are gettin a new comp but still keepin this but i mean even if use the PC World mag thing he still wont belive it. he thinks everything he says, does,etc is right. we could run a virus scan and show him were the viruses are, and i bet they would be in the my documents folder because he saves everything there and i bet there is a lot of pr0n and stuff containing viruses so im tryin to get him to clear them but i cant change that

Your dad is gonna keep fkiin the computer up. You need to set him straight with it. You could just DL adaware and then run it and uninstall all while he is not home.

Yeah, get adaware and spybot (they both catch different strings of spyware), run them, then use Spyware Blaster to immunize your computer so you don't need to be sneaky very often
