Question? Are we really as far as we think we are when it comes to how we treat the people of the world. I mean we are quite smart we can put a man on a moon, clone a sheep, talk to people all over the world by computers. But we still have people starving to death, killed because of the color of the skin or what faith the belong to. we still have wars people killing kids and women and won't care if they see someone starving in the streets. i don't know what to think, can you tell me your thoughts

I feel that isolated groups of people in the world are beyond all of the mess. So if you go by highest common den. we are doing pretty damn well as a race. Unfortunatly as we often see things are usually only as strong as the weakest link and weak links abound in the world still. We are a long way from a perfect world and we most likely won't live to see that to a reality.. that doesn't mean that we can't set things in motion. We have to stop being apathetic about the things around us. Think about things and research them before you belive them. We have to stop being afraid of the differences between us and learn to control our emotions. I could go on but I won't becaue the question at hand is Are we really that far along?... No we are still young as a race remember that our Paleolithic dominatiors were on the earth for 100 million years we've been here but a few thousand to brag about. Should be keep up our pace we will be able to not only touch the stars but to recreate them to our liking.

"What a piece of work is man! How noble in reason, how infinite in faculties, in form and moving how express and admirable, in action how like an angel, in apprehension how like a god!" (Hamlet II.ii.304-308).

I find it horrible that we have enough money to make wars, enough money to fund rediculous projects, but yet not enough money to feed everyone starving, and help those countries develop so they can actually work the same way do in terms of having busineses jobs etc so people can make money, and can buy what they need to live. Let's say they gave a billion to every poor country out there, it would probably help them get established and from there they could live on their own. Maybe a trillion. Heck, the US debt could make the poor countries as rich as US and Canada and other high ranked countries.

But instead, we need to get our priorities straight and use the money for wars, sending people to space, etc...

I saw "we" as in humans, and not any particular country.

We have come a long way in the last few thousand years, especially the last century. All going well we have a long while to go yet so maybe in the coming centurys we might iron out all the other problems in the world.
