What if our life is not really real. What we see and feel is only a simulation of some sort. We are all in some kind of matrix, in another world, maybe a computer chip sitting on God's table, or a computer chip sitting on someone else's table, and that someone else may be in a fake world as well.

Prove that that life is actually real. It can't really be proven. I know as a fact that it is, but there's no way of proving it. The Bible, and the prophercies could actually be part of this "matrix" and basically when I die, I will still be living in that same matrix, but in a different portion. (heaven or hell). Depending on your beliefs this can really be a deep thought that can become complex.

Buddhism says that a man is governed only by what his mind creates. No reality is alike to another man's reality, in Siddharta's teachings. It is possible that this may be so, although some things do seem to coincide on other people's realities. Such as Microsoft.

Yep, his conclusion, you can old tell that you are real. I think, there for I am. I sometimes things, jokingly, that my friends are just mental projections of my inner-concious.

Yeah, cept back then they didn't have computers, so there was no matrix, just some evil geniusdemon of some sort planting false information in your head. Although Descartes also went on to assume that logic was also real and undistortable, and through that the existence of god and math, but critics point out that if such an evil genius demon master of deception existed, well logic would be among the very things he could and would falsify, so yeah, your just left with proof of your own existence.

I believe there is a factor to be taken into account, and that is intellegence. Almost all philosophy is based off the assumption that these true things are being done to intelligent people. Logic for example; and evil genius wouldn't use true logic, but a false version that makes sense to the uneducated mind, finding loopholes that make it hard to see the logic, or clouding your judgement by using your mind's tendencies against you. It's not true logic, but false logic combined with leading and deception.

Philosophy rocks though doesn't it, people who read philosophy tend to realize the problems we are going through are not new and the solutions are more complex than the obvious answer, due to the complexity of the problem (which many people don't realize how many factors influence any given problem).

True intelligence is a factor as well, but as Descartes tried to prove logic, he was really trying to prove the existence of god, so he wouldn't have the church on his . And besides, philosophers really didn't didn't pay much attention to the common uneducated man during the renaisance, unless you count machiavelli as a philosopher, and he was only interested in manipulating them

Philosophy is rather interesting though. It kinda puts things into perspective when you realize how many questions are really left unanswered, and how much we really operate on guesses and assumptions.
