Kinda sad, but here's my question. Why do people get so upset over things like this, I could see the same kind of outrage happening here if that were a bible, but why. Does anyone thing that if God came down, and talked to you, that he would be happy or proud of this kind of behaviour? This focus on material things goes directly against the teachings of most religions. I mean, it doesn't make sense... "Yeah god, and then we all started yelling and being mean, all for you! And telling them how bad they were and threatening them..." there are so many people that don't understand the point of their own religion, we're all going to hell in a hand basket.... :depress:

As someone who has accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior, I would have to say that not having a relationship with Christ is the true health risk. The problem with a lot of religions is that they take the elements of the religion, such as a building or a book or even a rule and consider it to be the most important thing. God is more interested in a person's heart and their relationship with Him than in blind obedience to some rule or regulation, and He is especially not interested in man's supposed indignation over the way a material object like a book is treated.

Said like someone who understands what's truely important. What religion do you consider yourself, if you don't mind?

I attend an independent, fundamental Baptist church. I actually went to Bible college to train to be a pastor, but I got my post office job right after college and I was never able to continue on to seminary.

To be honest, I have asked myself that question after I have seen the direction some of the threads here have taken. The fact is, I don't have to participate in, or even read, any thread that I am not comfortable with. And I am certainly not going to jump into those threads and get after people for stuff that they write. If any post is blatantly vulgar, there are rules to handle that, and I appreciate those. If a thread has a religious theme to it, then I just might have something to add to it. I try not to be pushy about my faith. If I push people away by the way in which I present my faith, then people are less likely to listen to what I have to say.

That's exacly the reason you should be here. I don't like the way some threads go, but since I don't really side with either side (for the time, I'm in the middle gaining information on the subject, trying to do what's right in the mean time), I can't make an effecient statement, nor do I care to many times for people that have no interest in understanding. It takes all kinds!
