Just a simple question, when you alter this file, do you have to reboot? I just did a change to it but it does not seem to have taken affect. If I telnet to the domain it still goes in the old server.

x.x.x.x host.com

Humm. see with windows I have my IP then the file i have hosted as the address then i go to a free domain name service that redirects people to the Real site

Red you do not need to reboot the host in order to see the /etc/hosts changes
