I used to use bit torrentsuprnova a lot. Good way to get full albums or entire discographies, and it doesn't look like it's on the RIAA's radar quite yet. IRC is a pretty safe bet too, there's too many channels to watch, and you actually have to read a faq first... which makes it too difficult for the average user

What about kazaa lite, it says no spyware or adware. Does anyone use it?

I used kazaa lite K++ edition for a while. It's a pretty good alternative to kazaa, and has a bunch of nifty features that are supposed to help keep you hidden from the suits, I can't really attest to how well the work, but I never got any letters
You should still be able to find it pretty easily, but I don't know if it's still being worked on, and the official sites have all been shut down.

I'm going to stop shy of a direct link as I don't know how the new forum rules are on p2p, but Zeropaid's kazaalite page has a link. It goes to a forum, but you'll see the download link in the middle of the filesharing section.
It appears that kazaa lite is still being worked on in the form of K-lite [kazaa lite 2.6+], but that's looking kinda sketchy, like maybe it has spyware built into it, so you might be safer going with v2.4.3 or v2.4.5

I've tried Kazaa, and to be honest, I like Limewire better.

I use K lite all the time and ive never had a problem. One of my friends used Win MX for a while and said that he got a whole heap of virus' and stuff from it.

Use any damn p2p program you want, as long as it's either the lite version or has no spyware.
It's pretty safe if you use this program, it keeps 'bad' ip's from connecting (ala RIAA)

(the above link is not a p2p program, just blocks the ips)
