RunUO Server and script section?

In the forums here it would be cool to have an area dedicated to RunUO scripting help and shareing of code. It could be a place where we the player base could post ideas and code of our own, and maybe see some of the custom code changes that make Valor what it is.
Good idea?

For that purpose we have the RunUO main forums. Even if Red was banned in the whole UO:Gamers network, he still bypasses most of it to download scripts and such.

I've thought of adding such section and making AoV code open to everyone, but having too many people sending code would be hard from a management point. Most of the code sent to me from non staff ended up having to be totally rewritten.

It's an interesting idea, but as said before, all code not submitted by AOV developpers have to be filtered through. We personally test each code for bug/problems and things that may be detrimental to the shard. If you have a certain tibit of code, you can send it to us and we might be able to review it (Whether it's a monster or some kind of artifact idea). We won't start accepting mass amounts of code to throw into the shard though. Our main goal is to get UOML completed so that takes priority but if you want to show us some of your ideas in code, I personally don't have a problem looking over some scripts (Not a folder full of them).

Actually, I was thinking a bit in the reverse direction as well. I don't really want my crappy code put into the game and I surely don't think I can do a better job by any means. However, I am interested in learning from you guys a bit. Custom items and monsters are easy, but there are some things you've done recently that took the server to a better level. One of the biggest things are the new AI of everything. I've dabbled a bit with RunUO for a while and have had my own private server I've played with, and I guess I never really intend to run a public server. However, anything I can do to make it a bit more fun at home to play with is always great.
Also, I've been a member of the RunUO forums for a long time, but have only recently decided to start posting and asking questions there. I see a way to possibly get more people to check out Valor if there is something to offer here. I mean Squirrel, if you offer answers to questions that nobody else thought of or can answer, it would be easy to post a link from the UOValor.com site saying here is a quick answer, but go here for more details (insert link). It might be one of many ways to get more people to visit your server. But I'm getting off topic a little.
It was just an idea, do with it as you want. : - )

Hehe thats a good point. They censor the word uovalor in the forums, but I can just make a tinyurl alias lol and have a dev forum, I'll make it programming in general, not just runuo, so it will be more generalized. I'll think about it some more and go from there.
