Fresh install of notebook

I have a systemax computer and obviously it came with Windows Xp home installed on it with all the proprietary software. I just reainstalled with XP professional since for some reason the computer was using Fat32, now it's NTFS and i notice big differences. Only problem... my software/drivers for my video/sound card are standard shitty ones and im having a 
of a time getting them from ati and whatnot, does anyone have any suggestions to make this easier to get my machine back to where it was?
