I'm thinking of selling stuff on ebay. I will start with stuff I have here that I want to get rid of, and if it works out I'll buy stuff from my suppliers and sell it, and maybe even make basic case mods (put lights etc..) then sell them.
I'm just wondering how does it work when you put an item? Do you need to pay ebay something for listing an item? I assume they have to make money somehow, just not sure how it works.

yeah, there is a small fee, based on what you sell it for, and options(like adding more pics, etc) that cost extra as well. It's fairly cheap I believe to do a basic auction though.

Hmm well turns out I need a credit card to sell. Since they need to verify it, even if I don't plan to use it for paying. That really sucks. Oh well I tried... Using my mom's is not an option, she freaks out over stuff like that. I came nearly close to not owning a site because of that. I should look into trying to get my own credit card, but I think the only way is if I have a full time job.

Check into getting a check card, you can usually get one with a regular checking account, and many work through Visa/Mastercard/other credit companies allowing you to use it like a credit card (i.e., getting online purchases, pay at pump at gass stations, etc....)

Yeah I'll go to the bank next week and see if I can get something like that. It would also allow me to pay my hosting without my mom's card, when it comes time for renewal.

Yep. It's what I do.
p.s. If you go to college next year, look into university credit unions, they usually are good to their customers.

Go get a job and move out. Wish I could but there are child-labor laws now.

I can't, I'll be stuck in college for 3 years and can't make enough money with a side job to move out. Unforutnatly jobs depend on education and not skills, nowadays. Stupid but true.
