I'm confused, is poxtfix a pop3 server or is it a smtp server? I'm looking for a sendmail alternative as sendmail is too complicated to configure and is not working properly and I don't know how to fix it, so I want to try something else in hopes it will work right away. And I'd also like to be able to use something that uses authentication and not just relay, since some of my mail hits spam filters at times.

Thank but I figured it out, and realized my problem is bigger then just sendmail... people block emails if the IP does not match with the host. <_< That's really stupid but it explains why my newsletter only makes it to like 10 people instead of 900.

No it's not really stupid. It is one of the ways to prevent mail spoofing, and also Spam. It isn't so much that people block it as ISP's do.

The most effective way to block spam though is to use word filtering. Since most spammers use hotmail and such anyway, and if there's a way to spoof it properly, then spammers use that too.

Have not tried it yet, but it seems I got sendmail working properly. I had to register a static domain that points to my isp and do a bunch of things in the sendmail settings. I have no clue what it was I just did whatever the guy told me, as long as one of us knew what they were talking about.
