i disagree. some members are unable to control themselves, and don't understand what 'moderation' is.

And what is moderation? I can't remember even the old board having a problem with cursing. This is becoming a childs playground, and straying far from the origional premise of "anything goes"

the original purpose was never 'anything goes'. the original purpose was anything goes within reason. i think the 'anything goes' without self restraint is an assumption that was made by some of the members.
the fact of the matter, is that cursing was a problem at the old forum, but that was just part of it. in general, people could not control their urges to bait, flame, and have general disregard to the rest of the forum populace. we have made a lot of changes, as evidenced by the rules section, the word filter is just one of them.
the old place was allowed to turn into a repulsive playground for those that seemingly cannot control themselves, so unfortunately, measures had to be taken.
i hardly see that as censorship.

and so does every other word that is filtered...and every word that is filtered has a very simple and more acceptable word that can be used instead.

Question: I like the filter (I think its funny). Is there a problem filtering it out? I'd like to type like I always do and just end up with the filters, but if you'd rather us not, I can try the opposite.

I don't know why the censoring of words are a big deal. I agree with Mr.Self, the filter words are funny. The other night we were having a good time and laughing saying foot
I think people just need to be themselves, relax and have a good time! That's what we are here for! I personally like the filter and censoring. I was getting tierd of every other word being cussing and for no reason really. It does say something about the place.
