Where have you been hiding
Whats the purpose of placing the links? Raising rank on google? or bringing in more business in general?
Anyways if it's a business you own and are trying to advertise for, well local classified sites like
www.Kijiji.com or similar for your area may be better then trying to get high into a search engine. You may also have a local site like myzer for your area but your more likely to hear about it through friends etc.
Can also try this here from
Google.com/link
Anyways I'm sure squirrel will have some more useful info on search engines

Forum sigs seem to help, just don't purposely spam it everywhere as people don't like that. If you can manage to write articles and have other sites link to them, that helps a lot. That's how this site gets such a high rating. google the word "bin" and this site is not far down the list. O_o Well that's kinda cheating since google says "results for 'bin file'" but still.
If you can rank high in google on very generic words, you're laughing. I can't say that I've ever tried to rank high for any specific words though, it seems to just happen by luck.

Considering I have not done much for the site in a couple years and have not been doing anything to actively advertise, I'd say it's doing decent. I do 100 bucks or so every 3-4 months. I have lot of other projects on the go but once I can code in some better anti spam systems and open forum registration again I will start making articles and publishing them to get more traffic. I'm sure the cash will increase too.
But yeah it's set and forget, and cash slowly comes in still.
BTW long time no see, how are things?

Hi Ryan,
All good, wondering if the ud guys in London are having a picnic this year? We have had one every year since 2001. No mention yet and usually it is in June.
I am trying video content. Here is a link to a news article. We get 2 video feeds every day. With recent relevant news. As long as we generate enough traffic to the web site we should do well. Google has invested alot of funding into video recognition type software, to turn video speech into text. For instance. If someone is to go on a video and say "Iceteks.com for all your computer teckie articles" for instance. Google will read that in the near future and theoretically if someone types the key words "teckie articles" you should get ranked well. They are planning on putting a lot of wieght onto video content. Anyone know any different?
