People stress out too much about Christmas

It's sad, everyone does not take time to enjoy the season, instead they stress out about everything. Decorating, shopping, organizing complicated trips/visits/partys, whatever.
Crazy shoppers spending days at the mall because they just can't find what they want. - who cares? Its the thought that counts.
They totally forget the true meaning. Today I went to the mall and did my shopping stress free, instead of spending 30 days doing it, I do it all in one day, if I can't find what I want, I find something else, done.
Then I came home and decided I wanted to go get something to eat so I go back to the mall maybe an hour later to get a poutine at the food court. On my way there, I see a husband swearing at his wife, all pist off because of how she keeps walking too slow (or something to that extent - she's probably at home getting beaten now - he looked like that type :/). Then a bit further I see a kid totally screaming his head off, was kinda funny actually. Then I run into another couple having an argument over who knows what - probably unimportant... like wow people, it's suppose to be a joyful season, not a stress one! Seems every year people turn it more and more into stress, and thats probably since they are missing what is the true meaning.
Just remember what the true meaning of Christmas is. It's not presents, or santa, or business trips, it's to celebrate our savior who was born to die on the cross for our sins. The gifts and all that are just an added extra, no need to fuss over it all!
Merry Christmas

You're right Red...we cut the stress by giving the grandchildren money and the adults food gifts. It makes for a lot of baking to be done, but no mall madness. The grandchildren are old enough now that they would rather select their own gifts anyway...and most people enjoy homemade food gifts. We make mounds of cookies and 10 pounds of fudge, and three kinds of cake.

one of the reasons I avoid the mall like the plague. I did my shopping early too Typically I get it all done in November, But this year, I went into the first couple weeks of December. I do a lot of shopping online too. I don't really run any IM so I don't deal with any crazy people online
.

I do online shopping a lot for myself...nothing like a good hunt for a bargain. If you don't mind shopping around for a while you will get a good deal somewhere.
The retailers are not marking things down as early this year...I think they know most people got a late start on gift buying. We were waiting on LED tree lights to go on sale but wound up buying the last 4 sets available at regular price.

Best bet is buying Deco AFTER boxing day, if theres any left. They want to get rid of it as fast as possible so they pretty much sell at near cost, probably.

It's a good time to buy winter clothes since it doesn't get really cold until the week of Christmas here. I think our last white Christmas was over a hundred years ago, as I'm told.
Candy canes are a good buy after Christmas. Seems they come out with new flavors every year. I think the white ones look good on a tree.

I know
This year i couldnt find a normal candy cane in walmart lol the only regular kind of candy cane in wal-mart i seen was sugar free and everything els was wierd flavors
Whats wrong with just normal white canes with 2-3 color stripes? The only odd flavors i want are other mints not berry's, rum, etc lol

haha yeah, everything is turning into low fat this low fat that, no suguar, blah..
And here I am trying to gain weight so it can be easier to find clothes my size, then they throw all these low fat unhealthy foods around.
I need to go on a Planters diet. Eat 10 cans of peanuts per day, I can dip them in butter.

Its almost impossible to put more weight on with everything now in low fat
Planters are the best tho lol Im always buying the BBQ peanuts in the blue bag
Question tho? How could it possible be fun to be shopping for x-mas in the last few days? The malls are crowded, People are pushy, rude, Its more like a war waiting to happen

I'm too polite if I was not, you'd see me squeezing in through crowds and passing everyone. I'm small so it would go nicely.
Now THAT would make shopping fun.

Trip, crazy folks around here will fight over a parking place.
Funny part is, they were not even in a shopping area when the police had to go see what was going on.
