I loled at this. Though the rest of the prices are decent. I saw a 500GB drive for like 200 bucks. If I needed one I'd definately buy it.

Buy a regular IDE/sata drive and get an external enclosure, usually cheaper and it works great.

dude your right lol would be 70 to 100 bucks cheaper for enclosure and a drive
still leaves me with the issue ...parents have my cash right now >< but i will hold onto that link ^^
if im gonna do it i could probly get away with a 500gb external for under 200 bucks lol
Sabrent Black 3.5 SATA to eSATA Aluminum Hard Drive Enclosure $23.99
Western Digital / Caviar SE16 / 500GB / 7200 / 16MB / SATA-300 / OEM / Hard Drive $159.97
those western drives cheap? like is it better go the extra 50 bucks for a maxtor?
and my biggest question tho is would this setup be fast enuff to play videos like mpg avi mkv etc right from the drive without issues? might also run iso's etc from it ...
i mean would i have to copy files from the external to the pc drive to watch my anime or run iso games?

If your PC is fire wire capable, then get a fire wire enclosure & speed shouldn't be an issue
I'd Google for reviews on different hard drives
I know I had a Western Digital that failed & they replaced it with no problem, all through the mail.
I thought I read that Seagate was the best, but I'm not sure.
Why get an external drive?
Do you have 4 drives in your PC now?

USB is faster then the network, and I find my network drives are even fast enough for movies and such. Not sure how iti's fast enough at only 100mbps but it actually is, most of my movies and such are on my server so I usually just watch directly off the server with no issues.

nah i have space in the pc for another drive but basicly i need another drive for anime and games as thay are in the high gb's
like one anime jigoku shoujo is 4.30gb's alone and games are always above 1gb ... anyways an external would be more convenient
if speeds are = to my mp3 player then speed shouldnt be an issue

Nice thing about usb external is you can have like 512 of em at once if you get usb hubs. Now THAT is a lot of room for expansion.

My girlfriend cuts her space down to about 1-2 MBs by loading it with anime......
I wanted to get her like a 1TB external drive for Christmas. Didn't get the money in time
She would've killed me, anyways.
THIS ONE, infact.

She hates people buying things for her, she would've slit my throat for buying her that.
And trust me, she needs way more than 250GB. She'd be lucky if 1TB lasted her more than a few weeks.
And yeah, how'd you get 75 dollars?

It must have been a one day sale as it's that $99.99 now here, too.
All the neat lights on it is worth it --LOL
I get flyers from another liquidator, who has great prices.

how much space is currently on her computer?
a TB would last a long time tho cuz as it fills up there is less to download
as it stands right now i know of at least 10-20gb's of anime i want but i have not grabed it cuz the shows are not finished being released (btw the shows are unlicensed so its legal to grab even for the US) but aside from that with the extra space i would probly just grab the good shows i had to delete do to space issues
500 should be just about right for a long while untill alot of new stuff comes out
i just keep a list of all the ones ive watched and delete the ones i hated and keep all the good stuff
anyways that TB you could just sell the 4 drives that come with it and get bigger ones lol
550/4=137 lol i think it would be easy to p0wn off four bran new 250gb drives for 137 each or even more and use the money to buy 500gb drives.. correct me if im wrong but the local prices here are not anywhere near fair

Border fees, bigger shipping charge (longer distance), and other taxes.
Heck, try getting back with a nascar Tshirt, they'll even tax you on that. LOL
