Thats usually how it goes. "I can't stand this world anymore so I'll make sure to take other lives with me BANG BANG BANG"

Its getting bad though, there seems to be a major shooting at least once a year now.

you will all hate me for this, but i sympathize for the poor guy.
and, of course the people he killed, but he had almost no friends, he was a loner, and most importantly, he was unhappy for some reason.

I couldn't really say I sympathize with him, but I don't hate him either. It's clear that he needed help. He may not have wanted it, but he needed help. I think he made a conscious decision about what he did, but his view of the world was so dark that no sane man could really live in it.

And in no way does that justify killing 32 people.

Sympathy does not equal an apologetic attitude. You can sympathize with someone as to why they did something but condemn the act wholeheartedly. Unless this forum has members that are emotionally empty and morally bankrupt to the extreme, that what he did is inexcusable goes without saying.

Most bad acts usually have a motive and reason behind them. Well most, some people will just go randomly killing people without no reason, they look at it like a game and have fun with it, like those people who pulled off a GTA in Toronto. Sadly, the makers of GTA got sued... not really their fault a bunch of dumb kids can't tell the difference between the real world and a game.

But reason or not it's definately wrong to perform acts like that.

And maybe he just was being constantly made fun of for stuff and he got mad like what happened in the columbine. thats why im always nice to the people who get made fun of.

nah.

I'ts most depressing. Your'e my age and your'e all like, wow!! College! It sounds so fing cool!!! And then something like this happens and you like, well this sucks! Im never going to college! Because your'e scared! I mean... I dont wanna die before i get married or before im 30! Those poor people.
And robonitemare, your'e sypathy is illogical. This man shot down 32 young, intelligent, potential people in their prime! It's sick. He has no excuse whatsoever for this act. It's disgusting. I'm, in a sense, glad he's dead. I sympathize for him only because he's never going to have an even 5 minute judgement. I feel extremely terrible for his family though. They will be ridiculed, down-looked, and most probably they will eventually get murdered by a loving father, son, cousin, brother, mother, sister, or just a freind. I know this happens a lot (In third world countries) and I want to know what goes through their heads. Are they mentally ill? Or just find causin pain pleausureable?

some people knew he needed mental help he just didnt get it. i only sympathize because someone has to have something really wrong with their mind to do something like that and he didnt get the right help in time.

That it's disgusting goes without saying. But once again, sympathizing with someone does not equal excusing their actions.

In this case, he was a nutjob. A loon that didn't get the therapy he needed. In the case of where other mass killings occur (as in the "third world"), I assume you're referring to events like the bombings in Iraq, etc. For them, if it's a suicide bombing, they are guaranteed a place in paradise if they become a martyr (which is just the way their terrorist/religious leaders like to spin it to get recruits). If it's just planting a bomb, well, if you've modified your perspective on a given group of a population, or you accept a certain number of civilian deaths to result from the war you believe is more than justified, then it's really not that difficult to compartmentalize that aspect of humanity. War brings out both the best and worst in people.
