I just finished configuring thunderbird and restored my profile from backup and noticed I just received two donation notices in my email. Much appreciated, and I'll get to those once I get UO installed.

Still setting up all my programs right now. This PC is insane fast, I got a format going in the background and I would not even know it.

we don't need AoAs to be super easy to get. Maybe a risky easy way of getting them, like enable them on the despise baracoon champ only. Even with the timer, a resourceful person could get 3 or 4 at a champ.

The tokuno champ would be a draw for new players if the poison spitting and acid pools were taken out. Thats how most new players start their suits. Kasa, Rbc, Grips. Instead of being able to get 1 or 2 in a few hours, they have to hit the champ twice as much and it takes a lot longer, with a lot more time for the new player to loose interest.

And on a side note, I did see one of the argentinians today. Cris Angel I think was his name. Maybe not from the same group as the other ones, he had decent gear and dueled well.

We might consider giving champions in fel a certain % chance of dropping an AOA depending on difficulty of the champ. That might attract more players to go to fel

Unfortunately, the kappa + deathwatch beetle thing will not be changed as it's a mobile edit, not a champion edit. They have those abilities on OSI and it's part of what the monster is. Getting rid of it would make it a boring, normal monster. Would be like removing dragon breath from an ancient wyrm or removing area leech from a succubus. Things are a little harder with that, but remember that serado is not supposed to be an easy champ (OSI keeps making champs harder with new expansions). If you're getting killed by the acid, move around a lot so you don't get reamed by kappa acid (Drops at the kappa's feet). Also, go into vamp form to repel the poison, or keep using the cure spell (It's greater poison so it's not too hard to cure).

Are kappas poison spill supposed to stack on top of each other? That's the biggest problem with that part of the spawn (other than the range GP), get a couple kappas with spills and you get hit for 3-10 damage every .01 second; it's quite shitty.

P.S. I'm going back to Columbus tomorrow. :((

yeah it is intentional, we *could* have it check and see if some exists there and if yes not have it stack, but that would be very resource intensive.

Yes, it stacks on top of each other. It's a new item being created over the existing (Which makes sense, if you pour water on an existing pool of water, there's more water then, right?). Kappa acid doesn't do much damage on its own, but when it stacks, yes, it can add up. Run around withering instead of standing in one place and you won't run into issues with a ton of kappa acid.

That's easier said then done. The kappas and deathwatch beetles have those abilities and getting rid of those abilities would be a step backwards in progress. If we make those abilities apply only outside champ spawns, it would not make sense. There are also, tons of other places to get tots in tokuno. What we could do instead is load up some of the other areas with more "smaller" monsters (Example, swamp area with a lot more lizardmen and the sand area with a lot more deathwatch beetle hatchlings). We can give some weak enemy hotspots in tokuno.

good idea seer death loaded lizardmen is a good attractant for new players and it still keeps the tokuno spawn worthy because u cant get serados belt too easily

For those interested, I have loaded up the swamp south of homare-jima with lizardmen. There may be a few snakes around that area, maybe even some stray deathwatch beetles but it's a good place to hunt for beginners. I will be fixing up the deathwatch desert as well.

I dont play at all anymore, because of irl stuff (my dad) but i got a pretty crazy idea I dont know if you guys care at all. But why dont you setup a day preplanned where most of all the main players/vets are on and make the whole server completely default/shardwipe to where demise is. Then go through everything you guys have changed, and get your peer group if it should be put in or if it should be left out/changed and also the mobs difficulty. This would take basically a long time, and you would need about 5-10 in the group but in the end might be for the best and start off from scratch working back up. Might be crazy idea but just thought id share.

Umm... I agree that it is a crazy idea. I don't even like the comparisons to Demise. A better comparison would be from as nearly accurate ML OSI version to what we have now. I don't think a shard wipe is what we need though. Actually, I think the staff is already doing a good job of taking a lot of the suggestions and feed back given, and correcting what needs to be corrected as possible. Then of course, wait for more feedback.

This whole conversation was really important, and actually stayed considerably civilized (I'm impressed). Now it's time to wait a little bit for the staff to catch up on everything, do what they can, and see how it all is in say a few weeks, maybe a month or two even.

Players (OLD and NEW), keep up with the changes listed in the forums as they are posted. Try the changes out. Make sure you comment on them (After trying them out of course) and let everyone know what you think and how well it works. Make sure you offer suggestions if you don't like the system rather than complain otherwise there will never be an alternative. Help add to the "Built by Players for Players" aspect of this shard.

Yeah we're doing what we can to try and sustain members. This sudden situation has slowed down ML though as we scrable to try and keep players. But think at this point our best bet is trying to get more players that want to stay.

Yes, because what's ML without players, right? Please keep all suggestions coming and keep to a civilized manner so the staff can progress in making AoV a better community.
