I really don't know what to do anymore. Since if we want to actually get more traffic we have to actually look custom... not even sure if I want to bother with the home page anymore, and it's not like it's going to match anymore anyway.

I've also been told this board does not look legal, I don't know how they can tell but I'm working on that right now so we might end up going with phpbb anyway which is easier to skin and mod but has way less features. I know Magic bought the license so it has to be legal...

Just make sure you don't go out of your way to try to please everyone. You are the owner now and your decisions are final, and even if we get on your case a bit, you could still say, "I spent hours working on this and it is going to stay this way until I figure out the best way to change it."

well I think everyone just got lucky that I in fact found a backup (happened to have another IB installation on my server) since while I thought my backups never got AF it was the opposite, the script did back it up, but it ran right after I was done so the old stuff was gone. I figured everyone was going to like the new changes as I had did what had been voted for, so I never did a seperate backup outside the auto backups, which simply just overwrite stuff.



But yesterday was a total waste of time I should of just stayed in bed till 11:55pm, watch the ball go down, then go back to bed. Today I'm just reversing everything I did yesterday. My grandma called me, she said she did not like win2k, so what am I doing now? reinstalling win98 again after reversing the skin change back to default. Still haven't reversed the home page yet but that I doubt I have any backups so it's going to have to stay how it is.

I think it was mainly the brightness of the shade of orange as compared to the blue, and the fact that the blue color of the words against the practically pink background behind them made the words a little hard to read. It may just have been the way my screen was showing it, but perhaps those things could have been gradually tweaked instead of you feeling you had to revert everything back. And please don't think I am complaining about you changing it back. That would really mess with your mind.

No suggestions ways to change it is different then saying that "it sucks" and "burns my eyes" and "what the fudge happened" etc... so I apreciate it. But unfortunatly it's too late and I'm probably not going to attempt it again. We'll have to componsate with modifications or something. But I'm waiting to see what will happen with the legal issue. I think what happends is that it's not legal to transfer a license to someone else, so if that's the case we'll have to go with phpbb since I don't have 200 bucks to ditch out.

The colors were ok, though there should be more contrast in my opinion in some of the colors.

My main beef was the banner. We don't need anything super-duper fancy, just something that looks nice and makes the place look nice... not like a bright nerf toy (just kidding)

Yeah but the current one is getting to me. It's like broken down the middle, and it does not tile right with the 2 sides. One of the main things of the other logo was that it was almost impossible to tell where it ended because I had made sure it tiles with the background, that's really the part that was longer the rest was just slapping a bunch of graphics. I did it like 10 minutes before 12:00 and finished with about 5 minutes to upload, it was quite a fast process and I had planned to make it better later on, same with all the buttons since I had only done the main ones like post etc...

I personally think it looked cool. Looked like one of those creamsicles. Just had a bit of tweaking to do such as do all the buttons (I had only done a few). But oh well.

2) I sort of well, deleted it.

Never did a backup. And by now the backup script probably already ran so it would be too late to go get the auto backup. I have the css somewhere though I think, but not the graphics.

Well to give you a slight idea it looked something like this but not as flashy. Just took a screenshot and shifted the hue 180 to the left.

Basically I had shifted the hue to about 180 degrees on most shades but I can't remember the values for the brightness and saturation as they varied. The top was very similar to the one on the home page right now.
