Oh right I forgot about packs of noodles. Those are also good. Anyone remember eating those raw? Used to crunks them up in the packaging with the sauce then eat em. They were pretty good too. Forget which brand was the best one mind you...think it was a black/yellow packaging (Not Mr.Noodle).

I actually like mixing steak seasoning and old bay seasoning into it because the preservatives in the packages it comes with are horrible for you.

Oh ya I used to eat those at school all the time lol, the ones made from styrofoam. I remember accidentally punching a hole through it with my fork and it made a mess lol

Another one of those "I can't wait to move out" moments. My dad just came home, he's super pissy and in bad mood, he's making crap load of noise, yelling and slamming doors and nearly breaking stuff.
Sometimes I just feel like snapping and saying "WTF is your problem?".
That would be lethal though. My dad is the male version of katie ka boom. LOL
I love the fact that the cat just slowly walked in my room with her big tail while I was typing this, after my dad got pist at her for "being in the way".

If you are buying or renting a house, I would suggest getting this:
http://www.amazon.com/Home-Improvement- ... 257&sr=8-1
Renting an apartment usually requires less maintenance, they usually have staff hired to do most of the stuff. Either way, its going to be a big change. There are a lot of things you probably don't realize your parents do or provide. Soap, laundry soap, dishsoap, shampoo, toothpaste, FOOD, get used to buying all that stuff for yourself. And laundry... cmon man, I was doing my own laundry when I was 10. Its not that difficult.

Yeah I'm semi handy man so I can fix stuff around the house, do electrical, plumbing I'm not brave enough to do but if I got a book that showed how to properly do it, I could do that too. When something electrical goes wrong it usually involves sparks in the face followed by the power going out, I can live with that. Plumbing mistake usually involves a flood or serious mess, now THAT I can't live with.
I'll have to learn to cook/clean and stuff, but in the end it will all be worth it.

Red, start cooking a few recipes that are easy to make. Lasagne = easy, chili (its the beginning of chili season now) = easy, frozen pizza = easy.
www.foodnetwork.com is a good place to find simple recipes.
Just remember, there are a few things that every man should be able to produce in the kitchen.
#1. Strong black coffee.
#2. Steak cooked on a charcoal grill.
#3. French Toast.

Yes, very little beats a charcoal grilled steak. Even better if there's a bit of hickory or apple wood thrown in.
Make sure you don't get one of those apartments where your not allowed to use a grill. That was a pain at my last apartment.

I'll most likely be getting my own house, so that wont be an issue.

Yeah, the key is to learn how to judge the doneness of the meat by touch. That way you aren't poking it with a meat thermometer. I go ballistic when I see a person poke holes in a good steak. Just a little pressure from the spatula and you can tell when the meat is ready. The wood smoke really adds a lot to the flavor too. Then, put it in the unheated oven for 5-10 minutes to let it sit before you cut into it.
See Red, you just learned 4 or 5 grilling tips that most people don't know.

Question. Why do you put it into an unheated oven to let it sit? Why not just set it on the counter? So it doesn't lose too much heat? I've never heard of this.

Ovens and microwaves are good because they are insulated, therefore the meat makes a gradual cooldown. And you are right, they don't loose much heat so you still have a hot steak to eat. Its also important at my house because the dogs would grab steaks on the counter.
