I wouldn't think it would heat up the processor.

I hope not. Anyway, I don't have heating problems, so it wouldn't be an issue anyway.... :)

I think the heating problems come from o'clocking...trying to make the system do more than it was designed to do.

Yeah. I don't overclock. I don't see a point in it. Why take a change for just a little speed boost?

Yes, I have enough speed now with DSL. No way to increase speed with dial-up. :(

UD might make your CPU produce more heat, but not enough to cause damage, unless you are already borderline. It uses 100% CPU all the time, but does not overload ether, if you fire up a game that needs more resources, it will use less, but the overall always stays at 100%.

UD is using 99% on my computer now. :)

we're paying like $35 here :P My mom works for the same company as the isp (it's a telecom company - I do my coop for their competition :roflmao: ) but the regular price is about $40 I think. Dialup is $20, so ADSL sure is worth having!

It is 40 here...

In Tokyo, you can get a line with 12 Mbps for $40 something!!! For $24, you can get 8 Mbps. I am sure that is better than what most people in the US have.... :banghead:

Japan is so much ahead of us in technology....

Tokyo used to have a high price for broadband because the government controlled those things. Now, they have opened the market and there is very high competition.

High competition=Lower prices!

I love Tokyo even more now that I know about these prices!

12Mbps would be NICE! :yo:

There's tests you can do online. They are not all that accurate though. You can also tell by downloading a file. But I realized some browsers download slower then others, so really, your connection is faster then you think - it's all the Windows handling of data that slows things down!

I think I read somewhere, it is 12 hours. I went to the FAQ forum page, to see if I could find any info for troubleshooting. Still can't get mine to work.
