Reminds me of the time on demise I killed this guy in the felucca solen hives. He had been doing the quest all day, harvesting bags of sending and powder. I got like 15k, a ton of gems, some zoogi fungi, 3 bracelets of binding, like 8 bags of sending and 100 powder. That guy must have been pissed.
That's okay. You can make up for it by making me a Portuguese breakfast tomorrow.

I was up north last night.
But since it was brought up, it would be really nice to not have random resources. It is a real pain in the ass to mine goddamn dull copper for half an hour and just maybe you can get one spot where you can bump it up to verite or valorite with prospector tools and gargy picks.

Oh that reminds me, prospector tool is suppose to bump resources, I should code that in. Or does that actually already work?

Actually, I can't recall if it does or not.

it bumps it up one level. So on a dull copper vein using a prospector tool will make it one metal higher. But it would be really really really nice to be able to mark a few runebooks for certain ores, instead of them being random.
I know I am asking really nicely on this, and I have asked about it before. I am not holding my breath on it changing, but it would make things a lot nicer for the crafters.

Yeah this was changed as per OSI, I know we're not an OSI clone but lot of game mechanic stuff I like to put in specially stuff that makes it harder to AFK/abuse stuff etc...
But what I do have in mind is possibly making a type of pickaxe that bumps ore way more, like say, by 5 levels, or what not, there would be different grades of pickaxes.
Or maybe I can increase chance of elementals when using gargoyle pickaxe. I do know how hard it is to get the higher end stuff so its in the works to look at slightly making it easier. Same with lumberjacking.

I suggest not following OSI's example TOO close. a lot of people leave OSI because they are tired of all the stupid stuff they have put in.. I know that is one of the reasons I left...
the only think I have a "complaint" about is the relative damages. It seems if you tweak the formula to lower damage, it also lowers the damage I can do. also in the opposite direction. I was fighting something then I first got here, can't remember what now, but I was hitting it with a all 70s suit on, lightning strike every hit, mana and life leech and it was still hitting me way too hard as compaired to the damage I was doing to it...
But regardless of that, I guess the shard is close to my personal playstyle because I don't plan to go anywhere..

A lot of OSI's decisions/changes are really stupid, I agree. But every now and then, they do make changes that make sense. They change around some gimp tactics or exploits so we follow suit so that problems from OSI don't reproduce themselves here.

Damage applies to everything. Players and monsters are pretty much using the same calculations so getting it just right can be a challenge. Many monsters hit VERY hard and it's a downfall for people who melee up close because they take more damage than any other class (But we're thinking up ways to solve that). They hit hard because a good portion of the time, non magic/close range monsters will rarely be a threat to a mage or archer because of the distance that's put between them and their fighting range (Unless they are in a group).
The best way to increase your damage is through your skills and properties. Make sure you have tactics and possibly anatomy to get your damage up. Use a weapon that hits the hardest on your opponent's weakest elemental resist (Example: Hiryu....cold). Slayers will help increase your damage by a large amount as well as other modifier spells (Enemy of One is great for a paladin, honoring is excellent for a samurai. Necromancers can use corpse skin and curses and just lay on the fire/poison spells. Evil omen is also helpful)

My testicles feel very round today.
I don't know why, I just felt it was appropriate.
