Yes, I broke down and enabled Compiz. I rather enjoy unobtrusive wobbling, shadowing, and fading, actually, and my onboard video card doesn’t skip a beat – after a
workaround, I mean.

Yes, I broke down and
disabled Compiz, because it hogged too much of the CPU. (The Hardy version may have improved, but I haven’t tried it.) Ubuntu 8.04 final will be released
today, and I’m not sure how to celebrate.
Oh, notice the “Chris’s”? That’s the only way to make my name possessive, just so you know!
(Yeah, yeah, and I know it’s pathetic to wear MTSU stuff after I’ve dropped out, but I do it for the bookstore.)

My current desktop background is Bob the Builder. Someone in the house is obsessed with him and likes to look while rocking to the theme song; quite cute to watch.

Wow, you certainly know how to make it sound like a little kid, when you're actually talking about yourself. And anyone who thinks that they, themself, is "cute to watch" is a creepy weirdo!

I have called her 'Mini Me' more than once. She has my face, eye colour, dominant hand, and seems to have similar interests (just
has to push keyboards). And she is the biggest 'daddy's girl' I have ever seen.
The only thing 'cute' about me is how the grey hair is being replaced by white hair.

The wallpaper is
David Crockett State Park, just a short walk from my parents’ house. (We may not have good schools, but we have good parks.) That man is some ancestor. One surmises that he’s unhappy because I’ve yet to exist.

I’m using the

I can’t decide whether I’m happy with Clearlooks or just unhappy with everything else. (And, no, I have no idea how to play Sudoku.)

afraid to show your actual dual WinME/DOS 3.3 screen?
edit: my desktop is a not very modified WinXP with an alternating background (usually family pics or something else I have taken). I just turn all of the eye candy junk in winxp and go back to the much better/cleaner win2k look.
my other non-server system runs win2k and has all of that by default.

Actually the Linux screen is a VNC session on my SSH gateway. I've come to the habit of opening all my stuff in there instead of my main box, less windows to manage and I can close it off and go back to it without relogging in.
The desktop is actually a picture I took when I went to see some friends in Hamilton, from the 39th floor of their apartment. Nice view. A train happened to be going by too.

My laptop screen. It's usually spotless and empty but it's getting junked up lately from website design for work (and for fun).
1280x800
edit:
hmmm...that's not 1280x800
