I'd like to know how it is that we midwesterners talk. Because I really can't find much of anything. I mean, some people here say things like "warsh" (wash) and "rits" (roots), but nobody I know- mostly just the really really big hicks.
Some midwestern american: Ah'm a-goin' tuh fahnd me sum grub.
Child of said american: You hurry up dar paw!

Sounds a little too southern to me, Will.
Maybe,
Midwestern american: "Ah'm gonna go grab me a bite ta eat, ya know."
Child of said american: "Oh yah, well you better hurry up der paw or we just might miss da boot (boat)."

A mild Mancunian accent, no one would mistake me as anything but English, eitherway.

Ah dew NAHT talk like thay-uht.
I think "boot" is more Canadian than Midwestern, though. But the "paw" is dead on...
What Irish guy wears a kilt? I'll tell you: AN AWESOME ONE! Here's a better question: what girl in her right mind would be caught dead at prom with an Irish guy wearing a kilt? Hmm?

Being a Minnesooota native, I always get made fun of for how I pronounce my "o"s and "a"s for that matter. Boat, roof, roots, bag, etc.

Yeah, I realize now I use it a lot when I'm trying to be friendly. My normal voice is very monotone and low, it's really the only way that I know how to sound "warm", kinda southern charm, though a very weak attempt at it, imo...
