Here is what the Earth looks like during a solar eclipse. The shadow of the Moon can be seen darkening part of Earth. This shadow moves across the Earth at nearly 2,000 kilometers per hour. Only observers near the center of the dark circle see a total solar eclipse - others see a partial eclipse where only part of the Sun appears blocked by the Moon. This spectacular picture of the Aug. 11, 1999 solar eclipse was one of the last ever taken from the Mir space station. Image Credit: Centre National d'Etudes Spatiales

Woah that's cool, I figured a solar eclipse covered almost the entire earth, but given the moon is smaller and so much further and that the sun is so many times bigger then the moon, it would make sense that it makes only a small spot like that.

Actually, during the end times new jeruselem will come down from heaven onto earth, and if i got the description properly from the Bible, it will look like the borg, well more colorful. but it will be a gian prism, probably won't be a perfect cube though.

NASA's Polar spacecraft saw both the aurora borealis and aurora australis expanding and brightening around midnight ET on July 27. The display was created by a mid-sized coronal mass ejection (CME) that shot out from the Sun on July 25. Intense coronal holes on the solar surface also contributed to the influx of charged particles that interacted with Earth's protective magnetic field and atmosphere.
The aurora, also known as the Northern and Southern Lights, form when solar particles and magnetic fields pump energy into the Earth's magnetic field, accelerating electrically charged particles trapped within. The high-speed particles crash into Earth's upper atmosphere (ionosphere) over the polar regions, causing the atmosphere to emit a ghostly, multicolored glow.

Don't forget to duct tape your windows using your homeland security resource kit, by refering to section 3.4.6.2.4 of the disaster preventation manual!

Yep cities can be sued for not handing them out to all citizens, and must pay all damage caused by having people not properly prepaired, upon a disaster.
