I was gonna respond to Fragged, but it seems Will has done so for me.

And I do have a lot to learn. But right now I know what I think, and that's more than most people my age know.

This thread must never die,

God Bless America,
Land that I love.
Stand beside her, and guide her
Thru the night with a light from above.
From the mountains, to the prairies,
To the oceans, white with foam
God bless America, My home sweet home.

GOD BLESS AMERICA JULY 4

Everyday should be Independence day

GOD BLESS AMERICA JULY 4

Everyday should be Independence day
God save our gracious Queen,
Long live our noble Queen,
God save the Queen;
Send her victorious,
Happy and glorious,
Long to reign over us,
God save the Queen.

Oh Lord our God arise,
Scatter our enemies,
And make them fall
Confound their politics
Frustrate their knavish tricks,
On Thee our hopes we fix
Oh save us all.

Thy choicest gifts in store
On her be pleased to pour;
Long may she reign;
May she defend our laws
And ever give us cause
To sing with heart and voice
God save the Queen.

Our loved Dominion bless
With peace and happiness
From shore to shore;
And let our Empire be
United, loyal, free,
True to herself and Thee
For ever more.

----------

Some talk of Alexander,
And some of Hercules
Of Hector and Lysander,*
And such great names as these.
But of all the world's great heroes,
There's none that can compare
Chorus
With a tow, row, row, row, row, row,
To the British Grenadier.

Those heroes of antiquity
Ne'er saw a cannon ball
Or knew the force of powder
To slay their foes withal.
But our brave boys do know it,
And banish all their fears.
Chorus:
Sing tow, row, row, row, row, row,
For the British Grenadier.

Whene'er we are commanded
To storm the palisades
Our leaders march with fusees*
And we with hand grenades.
We throw them from the glacis*
About the enemies' ears.
Chorus:
Sing tow, row, row, row, row, row,
The British Grenadiers.

And when the siege is over,
We to the town repair
The townsmen cry, "Hurrah, boys*
Here comes a Grenadier!"
Here come the Grenadiers, my boys,
Who know no doubts or fears!
Chorus:
Then sing tow, row, row, row, row, row,
The British Grenadiers.

Then let us fill a bumper*
And drink a health to those
Who carry caps and pouches,
And wear the louped clothes*.
May they and their commanders
Live happy all their years
Chorus:
With a tow, row, row, row, row, row,
For the British Grenadiers.

RULE BRITTANIA! BRITONS SHALL NEVER, NEVER BE SLAVES!

Regardless, you have a lot to learn, especially if you think America is the cause of all evil. You need to learn to appreciate the good in all things, it is the secret to life. Will has a lot to learn too, his hearts in the right place, but he is still young and has lots to learn. It's easy to get caught up in negative limelight always shown of the countries in the limelight, but percentage-wise, it's no worse here than anywhere else. In fact, in many areas it's much better. It always surprises me how much America is picked on when China is far worse in every catagory most of the world holds dear, I guess secrecy works that way. <_<

*sigh* I had really hoped I could stop having to defend my :censored: by now.

I don't think America is the cause of all evil. By far. But I also don't hide behind a cover of patriotism and assume that everything we do is automatically good and justified, because the more I read into it, the less it seems that way. Seeing the good in everything does not mean ignoring the bad- that's called being ignorant. Saying that other countries are worse than ours doesn't mean we as a people don't have the right to dislike what our country does and to speak out about such things...our country was founded on the principles of freedom of speech and protest. And maybe I don't have a lot of facts, but I know what I think, and the more I get told I'm naive, the more I want to believe I'm right. I'm just stating my opinion, educated or not, despite the fact that I'm not as old and not as conservative as most of the people I'm talking to. If that's a problem, then fine, I can just go smoke weed behind the 7-11 with the rest of my generation. You can debate with me and win all you want, because there's a good chance you're right, but using my age as an argument goes beyond debating and becomes a personal attack.

First of all, I do not hate the USA itself. But I do not like the people at the helm or the people who voted for him. Also America has done many things to make itself hated within the world. Instead of razing a country to the ground and destroying many people's livelihood, I'm sure after the Sept. 11 attack Mr. Bush could have called a meeting with the United Nations and tried to find a proper, nonviolent way to deal just punishment to his attackers. But he had instead chosen to send carpet bombs to utterly destroy Afghanistan, destroying "terrorists" and innocents alike. This had made the United States become hated among foreigners. Then, Bush ignored the advice of the UN and NATO and charged into Iraq, causing the death of many of our loyal soldiers and thousands of innocent Iraqis. I am sure you have heard of the prison scandals, the Falluja terror, and the 911 Committee finding that ther WAS NO LINK BETWEEN IRAQ AND 911.

SO THERE WAS A TERRIBLE SLAUGHTER AND WASTE OF LIFE, FOR THE U.S. AND IRAQ, ALL FOR NAUGHT.

Bush and his unnatural obsession for war is unhealthy for the country and the many young people that reside within, for soon he'll run out of soldiers and have to reinstate the draft.

... Well you took that wrong.... One of my points is that you can find bad in any situation and many here do, if you live your life pointing out only bads, your life is going to be misreble(sp). I'm not here to argue with you, I tend to like you and in general agree, again, with the sentament, but the fact is, you don't have all the facts, and that is blurring your view of the overall picture.
You can debate with me and win all you want, because there's a good chance you're right, but using my age as an argument goes beyond debating and becomes a personal attack.
 I'm only 20.... wait and see... the longer you keep your mouth shut and observe, the better off you'll be when that opinion becomes a factor. I'm really not trying to be mean, but be honest.
I don't think America is the cause of all evil. By far. But I also don't hide behind a cover of patriotism and assume that everything we do is automatically good and justified, because the more I read into it, the less it seems that way.
Nor do I, I like you, dislike people who assume all we do is good, but I also put in the effort and research to find out why it was done, rather than just complain about blanket issues.
Seeing the good in everything does not mean ignoring the bad- that's called being ignorant. Saying that other countries are worse than ours doesn't mean we as a people don't have the right to dislike what our country does and to speak out about such things...our country was founded on the principles of freedom of speech and protest.
By you own actions, you have only shown you acknowledge the bad. Ignoring the bad is ignorant, but ignoring the good is just as ignorant, and quite cynical. And you're right, when I said that other countries are bad, I wasn't justifying all our actions, but showing that it is a long struggle that no one else has managed to beat either, as a matter of fact, we are doing fairly good. Our country was founded on the principle of free speech, but it is neglegent to complain with no basis to support your claims or supporting information. (I want to let you in on a secret I've had trouble with till recently. If you want to help, you actually have to try to help, complaining, isn't helping. Constructive criticism vs disruptive criticism.)
And maybe I don't have a lot of facts, but I know what I think, and the more I get told I'm naive, the more I want to believe I'm right. I'm just stating my opinion, educated or not, despite the fact that I'm not as old and not as conservative as most of the people I'm talking to.
Kill that automatic reaction to fight what you are told and do research instead and find out the truth. Your view that most you are talking to are conservative is a sign you are slightly off base.

Don't take everything as an attack, but as conversation. We are just talking as you are just talking. :)

I feel much the same way you do WW, I think Bush is quite possibly the worse president to date. But should we have helped liberate Iraq, yes. The UN refused to finish the job, saying "this is the last time, or we kick you out" and never doing anything. Should it be the focus of the Bush Administration? HELL NO! This admin focus entirely too much to matters that do not affect the people as much as issues we should be focusing on. I hate the way he has done things. But that's why he doesn't have all the power.

Though I suppose it's a little late at this point, but I'd say it's in bad taste to bash the US in a happy 4th thread. I'm not saying the US is a perfect nation, I'm just saying you could've started another thread.

Because there was NOTHING to finish. The Iraqis did not put out a plea for help. If they did, show it to me. Bush went in there for OIL and to settle a score with Saddam, who had embarrassed his father.

Anyway, if you want to liberate people why not liberate the people of Kim Jong Il?

In regards to the Iraqis asking for help, how the hell would they do that without severe repercussions from ye olde regime?
I still wish that we worked out some way to get the UN on the Iraq bannana boat, though :D

I think the iraq war somewhat turned out good now that it's pretty much over, but the danger now is, the regime leaders are pist, and ARE planing something, I can guratantee. Bin Laden and his gang, most likely. Different regime but I'm sure all terrorists contact each other and do lot of stuff together in terms of planing attacks. I'm hoping nothing will happen, but I think something is planed, and these guys are smart.. well not really but... and know security is raised high, so this will be planed for years until they do something. But hopefully I'm wrong.

I just can't wait to see if bush will win or not. And if he does not, can't wait to see if people will still bash the president. :D
