HOW TO START EACH DAY WITH A POSITIVE OUTLOOK
1. Open a new file in your computer.
2. Name it 'Barack Obama'.
3. Send it to the Recycle Bin.
4. Empty the Recycle Bin.
5. Your PC will ask you: 'Do you really want to get rid of 'Barack Obama?'
6. Firmly Click 'Yes..'
7. Feel better?
GOOD - Tomorrow we'll do Nancy Pelosi!

Good to see everyone.. sorry, I took the weekend with no internet as a blessing.
Manadren, Bookworm and Red.. I remember all of you guys like it was last week.... well.. at this point.. technically it was.. but, I meant before that. moving on...
I actually do a lot of costumes including Raoul Duke from Fear and Loathing.. Edward Scissorhands would take a while to put together...
my one problem with other costumes is that I have to shave my Jack beard

Flood, how much do you get paid for going somewhere in costume?

depends on what it is but, my typical rates range from 60-100$ per hour.
Of course I do charity work free of charge.

That's not a bad hourly rate. How many times each week do you have a paying client?
Of course I do charity work free of charge.
I can just imagine Captain Jack doing fundraising for some charity. Just wave that sword around a bit and people's pocketbooks open right up.

In the good season (ie Summer and Spring) about 3.. usually 2 or 3 hour gigs.. in the off season (fall and winter) average of about 1.5.. it's good extra money.
"What say you to 10 shillings and we forget the name eh?"
People seem to have a real liking for the character, I've found that I can get away with a lot that I'd never do out of costume... like stealing camera and sunglasses (all given back of course)

I’m writing an essay on patriotism. My instructor gave us a list of words, one of which we’re supposed to define. Hopefully she doesn’t mind what I’ve done:
Patriotism means believing that the Constitution, the cornerstone of American government, is too boring and complicated to waste time reading. Instead, some patriots elect the most charming officials to uphold the Constitution for them, although most patriots find voting too exhausting and decide to do something else.
It’s due in about three hours. I need better time-management skills.

Why don't we have a "Post here if you're drunk" thread anymore?

Because having one would encourage people to drink just so they could post on that thread. We can't have that. You're not 21 yet anyway, are you?

What's sad is how many late 20-somethings still think that telling everyone how smashed they got over the weekend is cool. I don't get the fascination people have with alcohol.

It makes them forget how awful their life is and how little they've done in practically 30 years. At least that was why I drank so much in my mid 20's... I pulled out of it and try to do things with my life that benifit not only me but, those around me.
Some people say Marajanna causes apathy... no... apathy causes apathy.. and that leads to drinking and drinking leads to MORE apathy
not that I don't love beer and rum... I do... I'm just not a drunkard

Piracy over the interweb is illegal, Flood, so I'm afraid you're going to have change your job to being a professional Teletubby.
