lol that's kind of funny, but its like impossible to catch a cat while asleep, they don't sleep that hard. My old cat used to freak out at me if I woke her up, she'd turn around real fast and give me the dirtiest look with a really tired meow.

well turns out AMD *IS* still better then Intel.
My new Intel core 2 quad server is croaking on something my AMD64 would of did without a single hiccup. A backup job kicked in, load is like retarded high. It's 9. WTF? anything above 1 and there's a serious performance issue, and its at 9. That's just a backup job. Basically can't even use ssh on the server right now, its just too bogged down. So much for upgrading.

A reboot fixed my load issue, really not sure what was up with that, I hope its not something that will normally happen when there's a backup job.

How’s e-mail hosting working out for you? I was thinking of hosting a
chris@test.chrisvogel.name address for a while and then switching over when my Tuffmail subscription expires – if everything goes well! I really can’t imagine doing a better job than Tuffmail though.

Setting up virtual domain/users is a real royal pain in the ass. But once you have it setup its good. I've been preparing to write a control panel so I don't have to do all that stuff manually. Once that's stable I want to start a hosting company. The thing with C++ though is having to reinvent the wheel all the time. So before I can even start on the control panel I have to code all the libraries I'll need like sockets libraries etc... and all the repetitious stuff. I still need to write a date/time library and text parsing library.

Called in tonight. Another mostly sleepless day. What sleep I did get was ended when the maintenance guy from the management company stopped by for the annual plumbing inspection. I need to get a new doctor and see if I can get a prescription for modafinil (aka Provigil).

As long as I'm on caffeine, unfortunately. I've been trying to break the habit of caffeine but since I had stuff I had to be up for at certain times during my last weekend, I never really got to sleep as much as my body wanted to. It got all kinds of jacked up Thursday. I started drinking energy drinks late Thursday night when I realized that's what I'd have to do to stay within attendance guidelines at work. I'll try again this weekend (today through Tuesday) and may do better since I can just sleep whenever I feel tired, since I have only a few little things I'll need to be up for.
