Ultra strong pets might be cool, but when one is introduced, it has a very negative impact on development. For example, uber pets killing things so easily without ever dying (As was the case with both AW's and yellow yoshi back in the day), forces us to create damage/behavioural algorithms in order to challenge the tamer. Once we do that though, it can also have a negative impact on other classes (For example, if we up the difficulty for tamers, it may be too much for a dexxer or mage). Anyways, we will "try" to find a happy medium for the AW's and make them a pet worth bringing around, but they will not be the powerhouses they were before.

What I did is slightly increase the resist scalar, made them 3 slots so they now come to par with a dragon, maybe even better then one but not super ubber. The existings will stay though as the change is hard to reverse, but newly tamed ones wont drop resists as much. Resists drop by 50% instead of 60% now. (well, until this next update goes in, probably today)
