Yeah not sure what happened tbh. We do get occasional spammers but that's about it. I need to find time to write more articles to get more people here.
Believe it or not we're still doing about 150k page views per month but it's mostly people finding us on google and reading an article then leaving.

I'm sorry I up and left and then just pop in once or twice a month/year. I'm busy, both online and offline. Trying to get a job, and apartment, my license back, all sorts of crap. Being broke sucks.

Unfortunately it isn't as fun as one would think. It's simply a lack of insurance. See, in Florida if you go like a month without insurance and don't turn in your tag, your license gets suspended and it's 150 dollars to get it back. It's funny, really, because no other suspension of your license costs that much. I can rack up tickets until they suspend my license, and I'd pay a smaller fee to get it re-instated.

Ive got 1 ticket so far that should have been $260+ and 4 points but the cop gave me a break and I got a $56 ticket and no points He looked confused when I smiled and said thanks as he handed me the ticket lol
And my dad went 2 months with no insurance and one week after getting his insurance back on the truck he got pulled over (DUI Check) License taken for being expired for 3 years and $120 fine, Was $300 he got it dropped some how but the no insurance thing woulda been $5,000
Also Couldn't renew his license due to not having enough ID so had to wait 2 months for his birth certificate from Quebec and now that he has ID the Test Center went on strike and still is on strike so he can't even get it renewed till they finish the strike
Point is $150 isn't to bad, Still sucks but could be worse.
The tags belong to the driver here I believe so I can keep em forever as long as I own a truck (black tags) just have to renew every 2 years if I want to use them. The whole suspended license thing is a little harsh for just that though.

Yeah, it blows. Oh, second offense, so it's actually 250 dollars, and that's if the price wasn't raised((everything else involving tags has been increased recently)).

Ouch. IMO car insurance is a huge scam though. It's literally highway robbery. I paid 5k for my car, I go to get it insured, and it's 5k per year! I put it in my parent's name and under their plan, and it's 1k per year.

Bad idea to have it under your parents name for starters ><
Sooner or later you will end up paying that to get it in your own name so why wait? Sooner it's in your name then the sooner it starts dropping
My insurance started at 300/mo(Clean) last year and is now at 220/mo(1Ticket).
It still dropped and would probably be lower without the ticket. And I believe if I switch insurance company's I can drop it another 70 but just have been to lazy to do so & gotta wait till my current one is going to renew.

No, American actually. But see, I drive a 4-cylinder VW Jetta with a manual transmission. I get good rates on insurance. Better than most my friends, at least.

I believe it's the manual that help's the rates because your more involved in driving,
Like always know your speed and harder to do bad driving habits like chatting on a cell etc

Yeah, "they" claim that about manuals... But "they" are just incompetent. Within my first few weeks of driving it((first time driving stick)), I could sip a soda, drag on a cigarette, and shift-up, while making a corner at about 35 mph((meaning this all happens within 2 seconds or so)).
Not hard at all. In fact, it's just as sub-concious as my driving has always been.

Didn't say impossible as I do it too. Coffee, phone, smoking etc
But like I said, I always know exactly how fast I'm going just by what gear I'm in and the sound. Sub conscious or not I know.
Harder to get the same accuracy with an auto.
1st+5000rpm=40kph
2nd+2500rpm=30kph
5th+1500rpm=50kph
5th+1700=60kph
etc etc
Same vehicle auto the rpm's in same gears can be way off for those speeds and you don't really keep track of what gear the auto is in at all times.
Each rpm has a unique sound that I know, so factor in the gear and I know my speed without taking my eyes off the road to check gauges. Also when learning stick I started using my mirrors more due to roll back, I don't roll back at all anymore but I still check my mirrors often though.
It's minor crap like that, helps prevent accidents hence the lower insurance. Would think it would be higher on stick due to the performance/sport aspect because sports cars are usually built with stick and purchased by people who arn't using them for sunday driving but again it makes a better driver in the end, In an emergency you know how to handle the vehicle better then the soccer mom who has never been over the speed limit. She may have a lower chance of being in an emergency but you have a higher chance of getting out of one.
Wouldn't trade my stick for anything auto regardless of make or model

I love my tiny car with manual transmission. It's comfortable and fun to drive. My girlfriend can't drive stick, but she has a Kia Optima with a Tiptronic transmission. That actually takes some getting use to since there's no clutch, you just pop it up or pop it down. And of course, only four damn gears.
