Crazy global warming theory
I was just having another global warming discussion with someone and had a really good point to prove(although the point isn't good in our favor), but they were way too worked up over it and I couldn't get my point in. So I'm here to tell you guys and hopefully you'll listen so someone will hear what I have to say.
Quite frankly, I don't honestly believe we'll stop global warming. I've come to the conclusion that, like many things in this world, it isn't worth fighting over anymore. Therefore, I'm going to sit back and comfortably enjoy the rest of my life until my inevitable death((of which I don't believe will come, but, that's another theory entirely)). But why won't we stop it? Too lazy, stubborn, ignorant, self-centered, egotistical, arrogant, spoiled, etc.
Now, yes, bad, nature = dead and humans = no more. BUT. Here's my "bright side"((I like looking at the bright side of things)). Say that everything dies off. If humans die, then the cause of polution is no more. That means there can't be any more poluting. Things would have to eventually correct themselves. Nature would start over. A new breed of life would start with a fresh outlook and there would be a greater hope for nature again. Maybe this is a cleansing for nature. Humans have gone too far, and there's no more hope for them. This is how we're ridding the world of ourselves. It's the end of a failure, and the opportunity for a new chance.
Just my opinion.

Crazy global warming theory
We probably *could* stop global warming, but that would involve completely shutting down fossel fuel industry. It CAN be replaced by something non polluting, but humans are greedy and don't care if others die, get sick, cause wars over it, as long as they make their money, and that's a big money making industry. The head honchos don't care that the planet will be destroyed in 100-200 years (that's about the time I roughly estimate it will take to actually completely destroy ourselves and nature if we continue this way).
I'm just looking at the weather cycles in the past 10 or so years. When I was a little kid I remember going out and play in the snow all winter, so pretty much late september up to april or so. And I'm talking feet of snow, big snow forts, huge hills, the works.
But in the past 10 or so years, some years we got maybe 3 foot max, some hardly none. This year we had GRASS AND PAVEMENT fully VISIBLE on CHRISTMAS. And by visible, I mean like 90%. Maybe a few inches of snow max in shady areas. In the last couple of days we got some snow, but none of it compares to what I remember. Sure we still get the storms but generalized, our winters are much much shorter and less intense. Perhaps not directly a bad thing, but is a big sign of global warming. Also I hear places who never get snow, getting a lot, in the past years. Not to mention the stronger tropical storms and such.
Some do believe all this is natural and not caused by us, while I'm no expert and won't reject that, I do strongly think we have a big influence on it.
I have not seen a 8 foot snow bank in years, actually.

Mind commenting on my actual theory, though? Now that I thought of it, I really want to know other people's opinions. Sure, in my case we lose, but everything eventually would have a fresh start and things could end up better.

your theroy is bunk.
hows that for a comment
now why.
because when humans are gone from this earth. god will have come and got everyone that believes in him. and started a new earth with only his people.
so in effect your right we will be gone and the earth will be started again.
but not by anything other then god himself causing it.

Uhhh I have nothing against your religion/beliefs but I believe thats a pile of crot if I do say so myself...
What proof do we have of god? Just a book that has been re-written thousands of times. If there was some other actual proof of god your theory would be correct.
My theory on global warning is quite the same as Pyr's this might just be a "cleansing" of some sort or it could not be and that all the pollution could destroy the whole earth completely (this is not my theory it is some other crack jobs I seen on T.V. go figure eh?) but what if, just what if it actually all had to do with the silliest thing ever? Like everything. My point is that maybe humans should stop were we are right now and restart basically. Maybe go back to swords and shields and possibly figure out better ways to get electricity.

go out side look up at the sky and say god is not real.
go out and look at the atom that makes up the particle of air and say that god is not real.
every atom and sub atom in the universe has the stamp " Made by god " on it.
denying god is likely to get you in to trouble and i for one don't wish that trouble on anyone.

WAIT..... So you're saying because there's particles and atoms on this planet, that a god HAS to exist? WTF type of proof is that?
Anyways, here's a pretty cool link for you guys. Maybe we're heading towards another ice age?
http://www.clearlight.com/~mhieb/WVFossils/ice_ages.html
When my friend sent me that link yesterday, I found it pretty cool. Granted, we probably don't know enough about the Earth to know exactly what is happening right now, but this theory sure as hell beats the, "T3H OMGZZZ OUR EARTH IZ GETIN 2 HAWTZ!!!!!!" theory.

Well God did create the Earth and has the final say in what happens at the end. If it's not God, then it has to be some other kind of super natural force, as you cannot create matter, or energy from nothing - only God can do this.
My guess is the Tribulation will happen before we manage to fully destroy the planet. Or it's last stages of this destruction could BE the tribulation...

O, YE OF LITTLE FAITH!
God is real because Jesus was real and He said God was real.
We are in the last days--the end times.
There is less then 25 yrs left.
As Red said, to combat 'global warming. which is a loony left wing idea, perpetuated by Al Gore, former VP
( remember " I created the internet"--yeah, that LOON )
the entire world would have to go back to living in a cave with a camp fire--OOPS
Can't burn the wood--sorry--just a cave.
It's LUNACY.

A atom says god? How?? I frankly believe in science and evolution more then god, until I die and go to hell for my "sins" then I'll believe but not until then.

Hmm, that's amazing, dude. I'm a real person, and I say that a mystical being that usually takes the form of a lightbulb is real. He's of the one being that is higher than a god. I use to talk to him regularly, he was pretty cool and had amazing ideas and the best philosophy you've ever heard.richardj wrote: O, YE OF LITTLE FAITH!

if you don't believe in god,
Why Do you Tell him to Damn every thing?
if you want proof and are a fisherman then this should prove that god is real.
Record Fish at Benbrook Lake.
A new record blue catfish was caught near the dam on lake benbrook last november 2006, it was 42 pounds two ounces, and 43 inchs long 29 inches round.
Giving a Mr. Webster a new record for rod and reel catch on lake benbrook.
He used a 10 pound line and shad to catch the monster fish sometimes called a humpback blue.
But is really a blue catfish. the texas department of fish and wildlife survys the lake every two years and had seen evidance of the large fish living there, but had never caught one of them.
You can get other records at the website url of http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/fishboat/fish/...ms/fishrecords/
i thought to come back in and edit this before you say it has nothing to do with the subject.
because you see it has everything to do with the subject.
you swear that science is the only thing.
okay.
science is how the fishing line was made.
and it was made to hold ten pounds with out snapping.
so what kept the 42 pound fish on the line when it is clearly 3 times the weight the line was scientificly made to hold?

Interesting topic you guys got going here
Well pyro that link you posted makes ahell of alot more sense then what we are normally told about us causing global warming alone. Cant say we didn't do any of it but ya i don't think we do it alone and it is possible that it could just be the normal cycle of the planet. Not that an ice age would be any better
I dont think we have the power to stop global warming or cooling in any way shape or form. Think about it really in order to stop global worming we would have to stop all modes of transportation on earth that use fuel. And all unatural forms of power would also have to be cut out. Lets say for a min that we did do that. Then what? We are left in the dark with no way to get to work (if we still have jobs) and all sorts of new issues would pop up like no food in your local stores and now power to run our computers etc and burning wood in our cave lol If we went back to burning wood and hunting animals well we would have an issue there alone. Theres way to meny people worldwide now that burning wood as a source of heat now would kill every forest in the world in a matter of months And all of us hunting animals would do the same.
Ok so lets say we went to all natural energy what kinda problems would that bring up? I think if every home had a solar panel that would bring up new issues also as all that sun reflecting around could cause problems could it not? I think refecting the sun around the globe that much would have the same effect as our fuel only without the pollution. Wind sure thats one fair energy source that can be used but it does not provide enuff power alone for our needs. I forget where i seen it but thay can also use waves as energy but its the same issue as wind ... does not make alot of power.
Theres not much we can do about any of it now
For the ones on trying to turn this into a religious topic lol
God cant be your answer for everything you dont know. Why is it that everyone who follows a religion has the odd attitude of being so closed minded? If he is real then why does he let a new born child die? What did the child do in its 2 minutes of life to deserve that? Why are people in the mental hospital broken? He gave them to much to handle and now they are just broken lol
Come on i can't say that hes not real but theres not enuff evidence for me to say hes the answer for everything. Roving have you ever tested your 10 pound fishing line? Really like just cuz its rated 10 pounds does not mean it cant drag a 45 pound lazy fish through water. 10 pounds down out of water is not the same as 10 pounds being pulled sideways through water. How much does your boat weigh out of water? i bet if you put your friend in your boat and put it in water you could pull him to shore using your 10 pound line but wait your friend alone weighs way more then 10 pounds even without the boat? unless theres strong wind and you dont torque the line then you can pull the boat in without breaking the line.
PS. pyro dont fight the ones trying the give you the god answer unless you want a flame war lol They are mindless zombies that cannot resist the temptation of forcing there beleifes on you. They cant open there mind to the thought that not everyone can follow what they do. Science may not have the answer yet but religion also does not. The only difference between the 2 is science knows its only a theory and it may be wrong but science also does not allways fall back to old answers like religion does when thay find a mistake in there theory.
Umm k this is probly the longest post ever made by me so umm ya i think i will end it

But I like arguing with Christians. Especially with the responses I'm getting here. These are, no offence, some of the worst "proofs" of God I've ever read. Atoms in the air are stamped with "Made by God"? Since when?
And I can say "God dammit!" without believing in God. It's a phrase. It isn't meant to be taken literately. And before anyone pulls out some, "Wur do u tink it cam frum!?!?!?!??" on me, I just like to say, THINGS DON'T KEEP THEIR MEANING. Once a phrase like that becomes a widely-used phrase, it usually doesn't mean the same thing anymore.
And Richard, I was seriously expecting a slightly better comment from you, but I guess I expected a little too much from a typical Christian response. Your "God is real because Jesus is real and Jesus said God was real" is a statement my mom would say. And my mom, BTW, is the one who tries saying, "The bible is real because God wrote it"...................... Wow, just............. WOW............

Sorry if my my screen name and sig offends you
My screen name i got from a GAME called diablo 2 ..needed a screen name for online and triple6 seems to go with the games theme does it not?
My sig well it also goes with the theme i seem to have kicking and it happens to be lyrics from one of my fav songs lol
Maybe i kept the name for a reason cuz it does have meaning TO ME but that reason is not cuz i follow anything its because of a GAME. Nothing more.
The way i see it is pyro did request to keep religion out of the tipoc and you both pushed it into the topic anyways. Hence the mindless part. Why do you push? Cuz thats what you believe is right. Sure it is the right thing to do if someone wants to join you.
Just saying its rude to try and force your beliefes on others who might not want to hear it

Gore's 'Truth' restricted at schools
The Associated Press
FEDERAL WAY - The school board in this suburb south of Seattle has restricted showings of Al Gore's movie on global warming, including requiring that it be balanced with an adequate opposing viewpoint.
The board also required Superintendent Tom Murphy to approve when the former vice president's film, "An Inconvenient Truth," can be presented.
The decision was sparked by complaints from parents who said their child was taking the film as fact after viewing it at school.
"Condoms don't belong in school, and neither does Al Gore. He's not a schoolteacher," said Frosty Hardison, a parent of seven who doesn't want the film shown at all.
"The information that's being presented is a very cockeyed view of what the truth is," Hardison told the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. "The Bible says that in the end times everything will burn up, but that perspective isn't in the DVD."
Board President Ed Barney told The News Tribune of Tacoma on Wednesday that he'd received about a half-dozen complaints from parents.
"We have to ensure that our schools are not being used to politically indoctrinate anyone," said board member Dave Larson, who with Barney and board member Charlie Hoff voted Tuesday for the requirements.
None has seen the movie. District policy, however, requires that an opposing view be aired whenever a controversial issue is examined in school.
"I am shocked that a school district would come to this decision," the movie's co-producer, Laurie David, said in a prepared statement. "There is no opposing view to science, which is fact, and the facts are clear that global warming is here, now."
Gore's documentary has received approval from some of the nation's top climate scientists for its accuracy.
In it, he presents scientists' findings on the catastrophic dangers of climate change.
Federal researchers with the National Academy of Sciences have said the planet's temperature has climbed to levels not seen in thousands of years, and has begun to affect plants and animals.
but larson offered two opposing articles, including one by author john stossel that said many scientists discredit global warming predictions. he also cited nasa and noaa web sites referring to debate disagreement over climate change.
The film also has been denied a showing at Tacoma's Remann Hall, a high school for juvenile offenders, where Principal Rue Palmer denied a teacher's request.
The film hasn't been approved by the Tacoma district's curriculum committee. The school also focuses on core subjects and doesn't generally show films, explained Patti Holmgren, Tacoma School District spokeswoman.
The National Science Teachers Association turned down an offer from the film's producers for 50,000 free DVDs for classroom use. The association said it didn't want to be seen as politically endorsing the film or open itself to requests from other special interest.

Crazy global warming theory
I am quite shocked at the comments made by both sides of the argument concerning God. Those that do believe that they were unable to properly explain their beliefs and fundamental ideas such as the Design and Designer theory. Also those of you who have made a comment that Christian are all bad and are trying to take over the world by somehow cramming their doctrine into your mouth with a bull dozer and that we are all closed minded. I applaud Richard for just giving his opinion and leaving it at that. I move to make an actually thread for anything religious so that you may discuss each others beliefs in a civil manner (I say civil because it all does to often turn into a flame war caused by both sides of the fence).
Now back to the actually topic. You guys are all forgetting one thing: a dark age. I think we are more likely to see one of those rather then the Apocalypse or everything dieing out and starting new. I actually saw a book predicting a dark age in western society . It was also positive and showed that Things could still be reversed if we change some things. I also saw a TV program were it explains and investigates the same sort of thing that’s kind of happening inside of Japan. I have been saying for a long time now that that's is what the world needs. Some massive depopulation and maybe a dark age. Call me sadistic or something but I believe it true and that us all other changes won’t effect it because are population has grown so large that the earth can no longer provide for us with natural means (Well maybe it can but we are just on the breaking point of max population) As for my whole theory on what is global warming for lack of a better term. I have none. All I know is that it's either we caused it or its natural. Maybe even made it’s effect worse. Who knows.

Crazy global warming theory
Hi, I just read your "crazy" global warming theory and had to join just so I could comment. I agree with you totally! I was just speaking with my husband about this issue and explained how I believe nature is cleansing itself. I did a search on the issue to find any theories that supported this idea and your post came up. After viewing other posts, I find that you (and others) are probably more educated than those who throw "stones" at you for not being a conformists, aka religious. I am not here to judge anyone, but can speak from experience on this matter. I was raised a Southern "bible thumper" until I started going to college. When I learned the "TRUTH" about religion and how the Bible evolved, I decided to seek God elsewhere. My beliefs about God are much different than most people on this planet, but may be similar to those who are educated and know the origins of the many religions on this planet.
Anyway, to cut this short. I just wanted to say that you are on to something and should ignore (which you probably do! Kudos to you!) what others think. Trust yourself and continue questioning everyone and everything . . . only the "thinkers' will survive this chaotic world~

Ummm, thanks? >.>
I wouldn't be me if I didn't question everything. Usually a debate/argument is pointless against me unless I actually have a side I WANT to be on, because otherwise, I'll just question anything both sides say. And I'll question it no matter how much proof you show me. And I'll question the proof. That's just who I am. I question reality. Or, possibly, the lack there-of. >.O
