Green vs Purple

If you had to choose between these two colors, for say, a site layout, which would you pick?

This has no influence whatsoever on this site's layout, or any other sites I'll ever make.

It does have a meaning, basically someone at another forum is saying that SBBS's default color (green) is bad, and that 9/10 people prefer purple. This person seems to have made up these statistics so this poll will most likely prove him wrong. Vote, and keep going with your life, and you're allowed to say that I'm weird for posting such a poll.

Would be nice to see a sample piece of the layout using those colors. Mainly because I can't make a judgement without first seeing the layout.

Well, I had to vote for green. The purple is nice and all and I like the way it makes the black text seem darker and more vibrant. But the color's not right. Maybe if it were a darker blue, maybe a bit lighter than navy blue, or a bit lighter blue

also had to vote green cuz the purple seems a lil girly

BUT on the other hand i do agree that if it was a darker blue it would probly beat out both green and purple lol

get a sample of dark blue ^^

get a sample of dark blue ^^

the girly purple part is noticeable in the background of the trees. Even if you wanted to keep the purpleish feel, make it around aquamarine (blue/purple)

Yeah, I think everyone can agree blue is one of the coolest colors ever.

Yeah probably is the most prefered. Though too many forum/site defaults use that so gota be unique. I had #FF6600 orange for a bit but that was probably worse than purple.

Ya, blue tends to be the preferred choice. But you can always choose a different shade of blue. As for the green, it might fit, but the color's a little off. Maybe try a nicer looking green like emerald green.

Green #008B00

Maybe try that combination (I assume you are using hex values for colors). The emerald green is the lighter of the two which would look nice for the background whereas the green would look good for the headings (Maybe be a little too dark, or it could be just right). Also, fits the sbbs system well. Where do squirrels live? In trees. Trees are brown with green leaves, right?

I like the Green. While Blue is probably my favorite color, a darker blue would be a bit harder to pull off a decent contrast without looking ugly, and a lighter blue is somewhat of a staple among board color schemes. And while both the green and purple schemes posted look great, the green is more in tune with the Squirrel theme whereas purple really doesn't seem to jive in that respect.
