Had to reboot my server, so I go downstairs since I had a bad feeling it was not going to come back up, but it did, so as I started walking up my parants called me in an odd way as if something was terribly wrong.

There was a bear in our neighbor's yard. He was standing and had both paws on the car, now this bear is huge. Then he walked in our driveway and we never found out where he went from there, we kind of had to lower our heads so he does not see us and break into the house type of thing.

So the cops are now around looking for the bear but no luck so far. Youd think it would not be hard to find something that size but when it's dark, and the bear is black, and good at hiding, and fast, it's harder then you would think. A couple minutes after we saw it the cops got a call it was on the other side of the block, then it came back our side but we did not see it near the house.

Tonight I'll sleep tight knowing there's a bear around.

I have this suddent craving for bbqed chicken so I'll go fire up the bbq.

They found the bear around 4:00am and shot it dead. See they used to just trankalize them and bring them back in the bush, but there's so many of them they just keep coming back anyway and then they feel more comfortable as we did not kill it, and bears being comfortable with us can be rather dangeraus. :D

The cop was walking betwen two houses with his flashlight and came to the end and looked on one side then when he looked on the other the bear was right there and ran right beside the cop between the two houses, that's when he pulled his shot gun and shot him. Man that must of been scary, since the bear could have easily jumped him instead of passing beside.

wow i wonder what kind of gun the cop used because i would think a standarnd 9mm wouldn't even faiz a bear. i have heard stories about people unloading shotguns on bears and they still were alive. I am sure that if you unload a 12guage on a bear it might be alive but i dout it would be able to move very much

Not sure what type of gun but I know it was a shot gun as I was outside with them eariler last night and saw their gun. Yeah I doubt a 9mm would do much damage, well not the first couple of shots anyway and the last thing you want is having to reload in the middle of the shootng spree as the bear gets agrevated.

The photos are of a guy who works for the Forest Service. He was out deer hunting. A large grizzly bear charged him from about 50 yards away. He unloaded his 7mm Semi-automatic rifle into the bear and it dropped a few feet from him. The big bear was still alive so he reloaded and capped it in the head. The bear was over one thousand six hundred pounds. It stood 12' 6" high at the shoulder, and 14' to the top of his head. It's the largest grizzly bear ever recorded in the world. Of course, the game department did not let him keep it. It will be mounted and put on display at the Anchorage airport to remind tourists of the risks involved when in the wild. You would be level with the bear's belly button when he stood upright. When on all fours, he would look you in the eye. To give it additional perspective, consider that this bear, standing on its hind legs, could walk up to an average single story house and look over the roof. The bear had killed at least two people. His last meal was the unlucky hiker in the third picture. The Forest Service found his 38-caliber pistol emptied. Although the hiker fired six shots, only four managed to hit the bear. (they ultimately found four 38-caliber slugs along with the seven 7mm slugs inside the bear's dead body) The 38's only wounded him---and really pissed him off. The bear killed the hiker an estimated three days prior to the bear's own demise by the Forest Service worker.

Ya, I remembered seeing the bullet sizes in the movie. Insanely huge. Loved how he took out that shrieker though. Was overkill I'd say.

You want to see the kickback on that thing or want to see the damage it does? I'm sure there's a video on the internet for it....or watch tremors 2 and see a shrieker get blown in half. :roflmao2:

Haha I can picture that, someone who shoots it for the first time, from distance all you see is some guy get blown up by it while the other guy holding it goes flying backwards while screeming "Woah!"
