Bring Back L337 BOT

Here's my "Bring Back the Leet Bot" Petition. I say we bring it back into active service and have it stalk and post randomly again. Anyone from the old days will remember this robot; for all others check around... somewhere there's evidence of it's existance. All with me please vote yes. Any questions or comments can be posted as well haha. Or we could recruit some help (ie: richardj) to help us make the bot wittier.

133t bot was sweet. Had some great conversations with that thing.....it knew everything about everyone!

i want the 1337 bot back in action even if 4 blondes sharing a brain can out smart that thing ^^

also must get his stalking ability put back in the village

i loved paying him for that

i think thats why red put him out of order >< i had him stalking everyone in the forum lol

Hmm well 5 votes to get it back, I think it's almost official.

I need to find that mod again though, it was old and outdated and the author did not support it anymore, so hopefully I can find it.

Haha well hopefully I can find the code for it again. problem was too it was very hard on the mysql database, I think the DB for the brain was like 1GB and we don't have that much space left on the hosting package.

I could make it communicate with my server at home for the DB though, I'd have to setup some kind of ssl tunnel or something.

hey is it possible to program the bot to start welcome/b-day threads?

or even get it to answer FAQ's lol would be kinda sweet to see it with some smarts ^^

Actually it would be easy enough to make it do a welcome thread, for birthday it would be a tad harder but still possible.

well if its starting welcome/b-day threads then at least it would have a use and you can probly get it to start threads for like events (like new movie's coming out or holidays)

it would be less annoying if it had a job

ethere way we must revive him from the grave and have a party thread with him to celibrate

Actually I've been thinking of making a bot that actually posts the same way we do - from a remote location. So it would basically generate random topic IDs then read the topic then reply to a random post. Would run off my server and basically be in a loop and have random delays.

But l33t b0t was php only (which is why it posted right away) and easier to impliment so I'll think about getting the code and reviving him.

Hahaha yeah that was funny too. If I bring it back though I think I'll put it locally, so it may be a little harder to interface it with the cybervillage. problem is too, the DB was like 1 Gig, a pain to backup the forum when the bot alone is 1GB.
