Need help with some graphics

Post by Red Squirrel »

For the cybervillage I need 50px by 50px graphics of houses/buildings from the top view. Any shape and size is good as long as it fits on a 50X50 area. I'm not that good when it comes to these small graphics. The houses have to be made of ice or snow so use blues/whites. They have to be saved as pngs and for some reason this script does not allow those and I never got around to figuring out how to make it work so just post it as an uncompressed jpg. Once I have a few of my own done I'll show an example but I'm leaving it free. Basically I want to have as many presets as possible for when you build a house you can choose what graphic to put.

Tileble graphics are ok too, so if you want to make something that's 100 by 100 then just make 4 50 by 50 images that tile together to make one structure. That's what I did with the mall since it's a bigger building.

Ya, I might be able to cook something up. I got an old program that I can use to make a house that is shown from the top VIEW. The only thing is that a house from the top only looks like a square, but I might be able to tilt it to give it a 3-D look. I'll have to investigate it tomorrow.

Oh, will the cybervillage have trees or shrubs to decorate? 'Cause I could probably whip some of those up too.

Actually various snow banks and what not could do. The houses have to be exactly top view though and not from an angle or what not.

With CSS and absolute positioning it would of been actually possible to go isometric style and do exactly like sim city (where building graphics overlap) but it would look HORRIBLE in IE, and I mean horrible! So we'll stick with the straight down view.

But, that'd show them what a crappy and uncompliant browser they are using

Hmmm, I thought of a cool idea for the Cybervillage. Overtaking businesses. Somehow, people can overtake businesses such as the lotto center, bank, trivia center if they have enough IC's. Then, everyone who uses the service benefits the owner. For example, people who use the bank and must pay 5 ic's for a service charge, THAT amount of IC's goes to the owner of the business. For the trivia, the questions people get wrong will give IC'S to the owner and for everyone who takes a challenge, 10 IC's will be donated to the owner. It would make things more fun and competitive. As well, businesses can be BOUGHT OUT. Somebody can buy another business out with enough IC's. So say one person bought the TRIVIA CENTER for 1 000 000 000 IC's, another person can buy them out for the NEXT higher price (so 1 000 000 001 IC's) So, the more you spend, the greater chance of maintining the business. Also, whern a business is bought out, the owner of the business gets 10% of the amount of which it was bought out by, just to say that the business was not all lost. I'm not sure how hard/easy this will be to implement though. Way do you think?

Yeah it will work somewhat like that. Basically I want to make it so businesses make money, and also cost money to run, and depending on how well they are doing the stocks for that business will go up or down. When people buy a stock the money will go into the business so the business can use it if needed. There will also be taxes. For stores, there will be suppliers that you can stuff from and stock up then others buy it. Sot he mall system will have to be modified allot since right now items simply get duplicated.

so how will this work exactly?

like mall owners will have to buy items from a supplyer n set a price to sell at?

may need to set it up like another screen for inside the mall then choose a type of store to shop at (like hardware for 2x4,drills ... army store for tank n so on) or will it just be a few buildings as stores

i do have an idea but im unsure how it will work lol every member can kinda make a character that will show up on the side of posts that thay use to walk around the village with but kinda give the character stats so we can fight/rob eachother lol like even if thay cant walk in the village it will give ya some stores n stuff to add to the village

like character has HP n gotta fight to get exp(more for win)to lvl up to get more strength, defence HP n keep stores that have potions n stuff to refill ya / weps n armore

but anyways i would help paint some stuff but i lost all my paint progs like psp7,8

All the malls and stuff will look the same but have different items and prices same with banks. Reason is that they will use the same php scripts, just read different database entries. The HP thing is not a bad idea.. but I think what I'll do is instead I'll include the person's defend HP beside posts, instead of making it hidden like it is now. Other stats as well might be put, like what they own and stuff.

Well, I made a couple of houses. I have one with snow on it and one without. They aren't the "Member houses". I'd say they're more like buildings or hotels or something used for "top posters or people with a lot of IC's. Now, the house itself is 50 x 50 pixels, I measured it. looks a little big, but that can always be shrunk anyways, here's two of them. the first one is the house without snow:
