editing/burning avi format files

Post by Triple6_wild »

hello fellow icetekies

ok heres my problem ... i download alot of anime n AMV's (Anime Music Videos) off kazaa thats like impossible to find here in canada and its subtiteled in english with japanese language (who needs cable TV when ya got kazaa to watch whatever ya want from anywhere in the world :biglaugh: )

burning first lol
well lots of the anime wont defrag right and get deleted so im wondering if its possible to burn these avi's onto dvd ... but i dont really burn anything so im kinda clueless as to how this would be done without losing a ton of quality

questions are...

will i need software for this? and where can i find it free

would i be able to like set/create a menu to choose what episode to play and what not

would i need to buy a blank dvdr? or will blank cdr work?

how meny episodes would fit on one dvdr? say 133 MB's per episode in avi format about 21-24 mins long each (i know a cdr is 74 mins/650MB's)

will have have to buy a new burner for dvd only?(one i have now should work no?)

what format will it have to be in so it can be put on the disc and work in any dvd player without magor loss of quality (lol probly gonna be used in ps2 more then it would be used in a dvd player)

will i HAVE mod my dvd player in any way? like i would have to buy a stealth chip for my ps2 if i started burning games (just wondering if it works the same)

if these questions are out right dumb is cuz i NEVER use my cd burner lol (i have 2 burners .. dont ask why)

ok now editing
... i download alot of AMV's and i want to edit the garbage and credits out
(dont get me wrong lol im not trying to steal the work or credit from anyone)

umm its like this lol i basicly use them when blasting the music so i pop em in full screen and it makes a REALLY nice screen saver at same time B) but some of em are like really f*ked up

like this one serail experiments lain vid i have has like 45 sec of just blank screen and no sound or my fav vid (korn - faces of death  ) has like a chick screaming in japanese (i dont want to die) lol its great in the vid when watching it at fair valume but when blasting and im not near the puter its like aww crap shut up

i just wanna edit that kinda stuff out ... like i KNOW how to edit the video itself but i donno how to edit the sound part of the vid ...if i edit just the video then it doesnt line up with the sound ... just a few tips on how to edit the sound part and where to get a program for it would be great

thx in advance :awesome:

You will need a dvd burner to burn dvd discs. Basically you do the editing in the program, and the program will allow you to burn it after. That's how I did it at school. We used pinnacle which is not that great but ok for basic editing. I'm sure there's others too.
