Must've been a fluke; although I can't read the text lol, your site looked more coherent and had a better 'flow'

Congrats Red! I have to say I like your's better than the supposed winners site as well. I see quite a few webdesign evils i that one, most notable of which being the unreadable links. Whereas your site has better layout consistancy, readability, and not to mention the the design doesn't start to fall apart at resolutions about 800x600... How the heck did that other site win anyway? Were the judges blinded by the whizz-bang factor of a flash intro?

Not sure. The flash is the only thing I see that it has and I don't. That's 5 points extra, and it was pretty close, I think by like 5-6 points or something.
I'm not too crazy of the rest of the site either. I personally don't like framed sites like that. I've seen nice framed sites where just the way they are made and the color, it's a nice site, but that's not the case. The mistake lot of people do with frames is use a different color in each frame.
The problem with my site, and I have no clue why, is that in IE it messes up. The td width="" part is totally ingored by IE so the side part is not consistant on every page. What I don't get is, on this site I use the same type of layout code, and it works fine in IE, the rest is crap, but at least that part works. I also like to make sites that stretch with the reselution, which is why I don't use pure css for layouts. Tables are easier to work with.
I think I'll have a good chance at the other competition. I might not get 1st or anything but I should do pretty well, and maybe I'll suprise myself. I'll practise doing stuff with flash that way I'll be better at it and can use it next time, but I don't want to dedicate all the time to that, which is what some of the people did here.

hmm. I didn't look at yours in IE before, but now I see what you mean. Odd there only seems to be a problem on comite.htm, though there is not difference in the table code. But I guess you could just blame that on the crappy way IE renders pages...

FYI, in the SkillsIdaho competition, my team also got silver (mostly beacuse my entire team, including me, did NOT take the mandatory Knowledge Test, which they compare if two teams are tied )
