well on his other computer he has it is now showing double connection computer icons in the tray. it will try to dial up when he starts the computer and if he says no thing goes online later it will dial up two yes two connections for the price of one.
Now some back ground on this computer of his. it is hp pavillion with 1998 se.
on it.
i set it up ( or rather got him to do it by walking him through it. ) with a dial up connection from the hypertermial and not use the one from the software that his isp gave him as it was forcing him to see ad's and blocking some sites from him.
and it was slower.
so i am wondering now what is going on. i told him to make all the stuff in zonealarm ask him to go out so he can get an idea of what is trying to do what.
i told him it might be a backdoor. or it could be a virus. but the only other thing i could think to tell him was that it
was or might be his isp, trying to make him use their software dialup connection in order to show him their ad's.
do any of you here know what might be causing it.?
this is his computer not his kids so he does try to work on it.
