Happy Thanksgiving

Post by Red Squirrel »

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

A good time to remember what God has done for us, and for everything he provides. :awesome:

I know, I'm a day early, but most people will probably celebrate it today, that's what we are doing.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Do the Canadians have a traditional meal that's served for this holiday? :hungry:

Mashed potatoes probably. She does something special to them... Plus, she makes this great cucumber salad. :yo: Lots of other stuff too, of course!

My mom doesn't make a Thanksgiving dinner, so I don't think she'll mind. :P

Good to know. My mom can make good mashed patatoes if she wants to, such as special occasions like today, but when it's just a normal supper, they suck! It's plain patatos with nothing, no gravy, no added flavor, nothing.

She gives me this insulted look when I poor a lot of salt and pepper on them and sometimes even put ketchup.

Today they were good though. Turky, mashed patatos and carrots. And a nice desert. Pie with ice cream.

Oh that. "instant patatoes!" There's probably animal byproducts in there anyway, stick with real vegetables. :roflmao:

Nothing like real mashed potatoes. I usually make potato salad for our holiday meal. We also have deviled eggs, green beans, turkey and stuffing. I get fresh cranberries to make sauce. :) Pecan pie tops it all off nicely. :awesome:

I bought some tofu once, thinking it would be good for me. That stuff tasted like something rotten! I did find some ice cream made with it that was good, but the plain tofu...no way!

Yes, I HATE plain tofu...

The key is to do things to it and add things... :) You have to experiment with it.

That was what I wondered, thinking there must be something I am supposed to do to this stuff to make it palatable! The fact that it appeared to be floating in stump water didn't whet my appetite either!
