Story LInk
bill link
There's kinda 2 stories here, so I'm just posting the links. Essentially the RIAA has decided to attack p2p indirectly, saying it should be regulated not because it allows music to be pirated, but because it allows for child pornography to be traded, and allows pornography to be viewed by minors. As a result they propose H. R. 2885 a bill which seeks "To prohibit the distribution of peer-to-peer file trading software in interstate commerce." along with the creation of beacon products which would prevent p2p softwware being installed, warning labels on p2p software, and would require p2p deleopers and distributors to collect and store user data for age verification *cough*and maybe a few other things too*cough*
