Hello,
is there a way for me to login to a remote windows server
from a script on a unix/Linux box, and execute a .exe on the windows box? Just trying to automate installing patches on different machines rather than doing one by one .
Many Thanks.
Adania

got me on that one too. I know you can install applications and patches automatically on a windows network via policies, but working through a unix box, I have no idea how you'd do something like that.

You can use a remote control program to actually control the mouse, keyboard and see the screen remotely, but it would have to be a cross platform one that works on linux and windows. You install the server component on windows and the client on linux and it would work.
There's a thread somewhere in the software section on a program that I use for this for windows but I think it also has a linux version, but I'm not sure if they can interconnect though. But it's worth a try I guess.

VNC server. Not as good as Radmin, but it's cross platform and you can use IE to see your desktop as well.Red Squirrel wrote: You can use a remote control program to actually control the mouse, keyboard and see the screen remotely, but it would have to be a cross platform one that works on linux and windows.
