Networking Tutorial

Post by wldkos »

hey red... I was wondering if you could make a netowkring tutorial for a small home network and maybe go over the benefits, safety linux and windows networks (mine ;)) and technical details on how to maintain and observer your traffic as well as some good programs. I think this would be cool. I know i could check the net in a second for a samba tutorial, but I think this would benefit iceteks more that I.

Networking Tutorial

Good idea, I'll get into routers and stuff. I don't know much about linux (man I can't wait to get a seperate working PC for it!) but I'll go into windows networks. Once I have a seperate PC I'd like to get into netware as well. Something else I could add, that makes 3 networking tutorials already. I'll start with a windows networking one, and I might talk about different tcp/ip layers and stuff. Thanks for the idea. ;)

I suddently have all these projects to do at school so it may take a few weeks, but I might be able to squeeze it into my time. :)

hey yeah, it sounds good, plus consider the OSI model and tcp/ip (maybe fast if you want), how to set it up, why, what programs, and security.
