What software do you use to compress/uncompress files?
I use something called IZArc. It is free, has no ads, and supports a lot of formats.

I use power archiver (www.powerarchiver.com)
I think they charge now though, but I still have the original installer on a CD so if anyone wants it, let me know.

hmmm. I may have to check out those. Right now I'm just using good old WinRAR.

I would check out IZArc. It is very nice.
