Dumping Board Database

Post by Possum Jim »

Sure you had an article about dumping your my sql database!!
I had problems with my database dump last week, its only just short of
4mb in size, but the dump database option in Yabb suddenly decided
to only dump about 25% of the database.

Went into PHP admin, same result, so was getting a bit :banghead:
by this stage.

The only way I can dump it all successfully now is through a SSH connection
using a program called Putty, which dumps the entire database to my webspace
and I can retrieve through FTP.

Saves loads of headaches.

I had problems with that as well, if the database is too big, it times out. "too big" all depends on the speed of the host at the time you are uploading it.

The IceTeks one is small enough so I don't exceed the time out, but I'm not sure what I'll do when it gets really big. Hopefully I'll have my own server connection by then. (yeah, right lol) $$$
