Same here. Google is the only search engine I depend on! I just hope they refuse to sell it. But Microsoft will bribe them with billions and it won't even dent M$ stocks. Then they will make Google turn into Poogle! I'm putting an article on the home page for this...

I've been kinda scared about the sucess of google more and more as of late. Because it is so wildly popular, and because the interace is so simple, to the point, and not plastered with banner ads. It's jone of the few major search engine that's been able to hold out and not become one of those "portal" sites that offer news, travel, shopping, great deals, movie tie-ins, affiliate offers, love tips, the top ten things you should do to child proof your house, oh yeah, and a search engine thingy too.

I really hope they can continue to hold out. And perhaps they will seeing as they've actually figured out a way to deliver ads in a way that not only works, but doesn't annoy people either.

But when that 300 lbs gorilla starts throwing it's weight around, most companies, regardless of how much they try, just end up collapsing of fatigue from battle. It happened to netscape, and though the open-source movement allowed it to rise from the ashes, a search engine like google is a totally different beast altogether.

Yep, that's one thing too, it's a simple site, but yet it stands out and makes lot of money, they have almost unlimited room for ads and like you said, they don't bother people, they are targetted to what you are searching for.

Speaking of google, IceTeks is finally listed under this new url!!! But the old Reliexec one is still on top! Too many people are still linking to my software and stuff. I have a feeling it was my software keeping me high on google, if I see that I start going low I might make my software available again but make the exe redirect to tripod or something to save bandwidth. :P
