Ud/iceteks Weekly Stats - May 2nd, 2003

Post by Red Squirrel »

It seems the work units are getting bigger, as while our points and CPU time are pretty steady, the number of returned results has lowered durring the past few days. We now have 23 thousand points, 45 hours of CPU time and 123 resuls returned! We are moving way faster then our past team. Now, hopefully we can get more then Tak, Wren and me to crunch. :P We can always add more crunching power, there's no exeptions. :P

And here is our weekly graphic.

I haven't been doing as much since my computer has been off more than usual.... Instead of putting it into Standby, I will consider leaving it on. :)

Yeah it does not hurt. If you are concerned about it overheating, get something to check the tempature, and if they are too high, get some fans.

I'd like to get some 120mm fans and put them on the side of my case. I'll have to get a dremel too though. But the dremel is the key tool to any other case mod I might want to do in the future. I might get a squirrel cage blower, like those big industrial ones. That would be awsome! I can paint it red... :roflmao2:

I am not concerned about overheating, but the noise is sometimes annoying. My PC is very quiet, but not quiet enough! :roflmao2:

hehe. I need mine to be loud to fall asleep. It blocks my dad's "pre snore" stage where he is just mubling and making weird noises. But once he starts snoring there's no way to block that, unless I play something that has lot of pure bass and also high enough frequency. 60hz sine wave mixed in with 120 works great. I'd like to get some very loud fans so I don't need to do that though. :)

My UD projects keep getting stalled...we've had bad weather here lately. I've had to leave the pc unplugged overnight, twice this week. We had one of the worst thunder storms I think I've ever seen last night...started in the late afternoon and went 'till midnight. :bsod:

Anyone heard of a square lightning bolt?

 Nope! We had quite a storm before winter, I just watched it, it was incredible. Lightning made everything glow bright for seconds at a time! I seen the actual lightning too. It's awsome to see that.

lol yeah. I'd like to get pics of lightning, but it's almost impossible, it happends so fast. It's best to have a high fps video camera and extract the best frames. Something I would try if I had one. B)
