[Dec 14 2011] - LIVE SERVER OUTAGE TONIGHT [CANCELED]

The server will be going down tonight from 8:50PM ET to around 10:00PM Eastern Time for emergency power upgrades in the rack containing our server.

During this time, the following services will not be available:

- The live shard
- DNS
- Email
- UO Gateway
- Donations

Because DNS will be down and we do not have a secondary setup (I've been wanting to do that) that means this site will also not work. Basically, everything will be down.

Oh and for the record, we ALMOST hit the 1 year mark.

I'm not sure what's going on, they still have not started doing the work yet.

I will wait another hour, then I really have to go to bed.... sorry.

I tried calling, putting in a ticket, emailing etc and I have not heard a single thing about what is going on with this outage. I have turned the shard back up.

There is still the possibility of an unexpected outage until further notice.

For now I recommend only doing light duty playing where progress loss or random disconnection would not be a big deal.

I have a feeling this will happen later tonight when I'm in bed, and they'll probably just pull the plug...

I'll update if I hear of anything, I will stay up a bit longer.

The outage has been cancelled, confirmed by the provider.

It turned out last minute that our server was not affected, the outage window is actually completed on their side now.

The threat of possible outage is now over as of now, you may continue to play as normal.
