I logged on today , and for the first time in a year of coming back to this server i saw 2 players online.

Congratz Red, You've killed the greatest uo server of all time.

An old saying goes, if it aint broke, dont fix it.... pre-REVAMP fiasco, this was the greatest server ever... I dont even log on anymore since it brings tears to my eyes and makes me want to cut myself......

The save thing should have been a side project, not a basis on the whole foundation of the running shard, that mistake we've grown wiser of. Indeed, the current save worked and could have used an update, but not the way it turned out.

The save thing should have been a side project, not a basis on the whole foundation of the running shard, that mistake we've grown wiser of. Indeed, the current save worked and could have used an update, but not the way it turned out.
Honestly, in my opinion which might not mean much but, I think you should just take the hit throw in pre-made packets fix them for this shard just the little things and get back on the advertisement and the issues with the actual server like inflation or stuff because everything else that you're scrambling to do is going to take a life time.

That's what we've been doing. It's all currently being revised and fixed to fit AOV on local tests, then a beta will be released when that gets fixed to catch any pre-live bugs. Then from there, live will be updated.

Really depends on how progress goes. We're talking a full ML integration on a fully customized platform, it's not just a drag and drop kind of deal. Right now we're getting the quest system running. The code is integrated on the environment but not everything is active or linked up so it's a process of going into the code and linking it all up.

In terms of an ETA there's not really a way to give a solid estimate on when it will appear on the live server as we only want it on there when it shows signs of stability. As a test server, that can be available sooner as it doesn't matter if there are crashes as they aid in the development. Red will be making a test server for the new stuff for primary development then from there it will be available for player testing.

Well i really do hope and pray it is done soon, nothing would excite me more than to log in one day and find 20-30 players online like i use to.

Can we have this thread moved to the Members section? I understand the reason for the original post...but despite that, it does not help to get more players.

If you wish to be able to log on and see more than 2 players, then perhaps you should not post threads like this on the shard forums...negativity like this in the forum will do nothing to bring new players in.

And that's exactly what we are doing. This is a free shard, and the time I spend on here means I am not spending time on projects that could be making me money, so the fact that this shard is even still up and being worked on is a huge favor on my part.

I am actually getting the quest button to work, as I speak.

yeah they thought they would make the server way more kick arse by making sure aussie players had the most fucking gay amount of lag of all time.

We cannot accommodate everyone equally in terms of connection speed due to server location. Some people in different areas of the world had lag with the old server, and same goes with the new server. Unlike OSI, we do not have the luxury of having several servers around the globe to accommodate. The old server was in need of updating after several years of older technology and rising costs to support.

The new server is more powerful, cheaper, and in a location that can be reached easily if there were any catastrophic problems. We are sorry if this new server location has impacted your game play negatively, but it's not feasible to run several mirrored shards with different server locations at this point in time.

my resting ping is between 450 and 550 and my running ping isnt worth talking about
used to be 300 running through spawns

If you'd like to complain about ping difference, my ping WAS 15 now it's 62. I mean, Running through fields of spells or just spawns, stays 62 four clients open, 62. You can still PvM with ping in the 400-500 you just have to play a bit more careful.

My ping hovered around 150-200, now it's arund 60ish if I recall. I've pvped fine with that back when I played. If your ping is too high, play a dexxer, at least stuff like hit rate is server side.

Exactly as much as I love my mages, until the need for a server move in the furture if ever needed one. I'll play my archers.

Been playing my sampire and getting adsolutely fk'ing pwned by ratman mages coz i stand there and do nothing when lag gets bad when its busy.
Funny but hugely annoying.
This will only get worse if you ever your player base back up and the server goes under load. I will be playing with around 1 second ping then.
I know its not supposed to matter coz your server can handle it but i think it does.
Can barely walk in lune now with nothing in there. wait till its full of players and houses and tonnes of items.

Whats your internet provider, and what part of Australia you living in?
