Query for Melee / Dexxers / Sampire

Just a question, factoring in the fact that the caps on weapon speed here in our server is 1.25 for fencing and 1.5 for swords and mace fighting (and that we have a 170 stam cap), which one the 3 would you suggest for a sampire / tank / solo- build?

is it worth going fencing for the 1.25 swing speed or should one just stick with swords or maces? If we do stick to swords or maces, why? what advantages do they give?

Fencing is likely your best bet, as the game currently favors quicker weapons. Damage is easy to obtain through slayers, skills and the damage increase property. Speed increases aren't as easy to obtain.

Before you go out and buy yourself a power scroll, your best bet is to choose the weapon class that best suits you. Many people like war forks, which are swordsmanship weapons. Other people prefer the "assassin" type class which is best suited for fencing weapons. Also, the current speeds of weapons that was put into effect on AOV may change in the future as things get revised.

My char already has 120 swords, I found a 120 fencing PS while doing baracoon yesterday. I ate it already

haha! I'm using a leafblade now for my sampire. I can really feel the difference between 1.25 swing speed and 1.5 swing speed

Leafblades have really good specials for a sampire. Feint to cut damage and armor ignore to inflict more damage. Pretty much win win for power AND defense.

Tested it out last night,
with full buffs consecrate arms, EoO and Divine fury, 100% DI from items and some perfection, I was doing 60+ damage on greater (them brown ones) dragons, and occasionally critting Lightning strike to 80-90.

I also asked help from Ashriel's tamer and i tried it on his dragon, he healed it so I could hit full perfection, and I was hitting 80! ... I actually accidentally killed it (it was not bonded too!) cause it was low health and I crit for 140+ damage. LOL crazy.

fun now with fencing, it's too bad swords and maces are capped at 1.5, I would've really liked to use swords hehehe

Weapon speed caps may be changed after the revamp as the damage and speed calculations are being revised to reflect OSI's more accurately so that may still be a valid option.
